if you want to do some wood hauling and deer draging .
the 400 arctic cat has twice the GC of the kodiac.
and you can get the AC in a manual.
the kodiac only comes with a rubber band.
and they slip under heavy work.
if your thinking about the yammy maybe you should look at the 400 big bear.
it has a five speed tranny and it has a bit more GC then the kod but not eaven close to the cat.
go for the cat its abetter ride then the yammy.
and a way better bush and mud quad.
and its faster and rides smoother.
has better GC [ 12" from the factory] compared to yammys 8" of GC.
i have a freind that has a kodiac and hes always the first to get stuck.
and im always pulling him out.
but i must say if gc isant an issue and you dont ride where its not going to matter.
and your not to concernd about getting the belt wet or have it slip on you when your working it hard then the kodiac is a great trail rider.
i just find it to low to the ground.
because its always getting hung up.
check out my page and see my honda going through water up to the headlights.
and theres some pics of my cat in action also.

mudblaster,.if the kod was the first to get stuck,it had the worst tires or the worst driver or that story is BS.The kodiak has more stock g/c than your honda so I don't buy him getting hung up and you pulling him out.Put some good tires on the kodiak and it will go where you point it,FACT!I had one and I ride with a rubicon, your story don't hold water, and, like most honda folks, you have a hate on for belt drive bikes

my freind has 26" bear claws on his kod and it dosent have more Gc then my honda because i have a lift kit in mine and he dosent.
also my mud lites are taller then his eaven though that both are 26s.
and i never liked the belt drives.
evan my cat was a manual.
i've seen belts smoke, i've smelled them burning, and i've seen them get wet going through water.
so i just dont need that kind of problems.
and as for not beleaving me.
why would i lie. i've got nothing to gain by saying a lie.
and like i said, if GC isant an issue the kodiac is a good trail quad.

mudblaster pretty well got it right on with his view on those bikes. A friend of mine has a Kodiak, great trail bike but always first to get stuck and slips the belt a lot in the water. Don't know if he has a leak somewhere so that the water gets in fast, but it slips that belt also under heavy loads where lots of other bikes are still OK.
