is the oiler squirting when its not hooked up to the bleeder? Like I said before you also have to have the linkage going to the pedal unhooked because the piston inside the cylinder is blocking the fluid from returning into the resovoar.

I does pump it through the hose when I pumped the air out but doesn't seem to go into the bleeder, and I do have the linkage unhooked. Should it work or could the oiler just not have enough pressure?

It should work- thats the setup I used when I did every brake on every 04 that I setup. The brand one I have is a matco but I have a generic and a craftsman one that work fine also. Are you sure you have the bleeder open far enough? You should be able to get fluid to come out of the bleeder......

I guess I should ask how far open the bleeder should be, it was wiggling. Should some fluid seep out even if there is no pressure on the brakes? I'll try again with the bleeder open farther, it was wiggling quite a bit so I didn't want to loosen it too much and have it fall off, it wouldn't be too easy to put back on where it's at.

Arctichead, The bleeder should be snug whenever the lever is not being depressed. No leakage except when you are pumping fluid out, then tighten the bleeder again before you release the brake lever. Otherwise you will suck air back into the system, which makes them spongy again. It is best to put a clear pastic hose on the bleeder so it's easier to see the bubbles and when you have fluid only which is when you stop. Also start with the brake farthest( longest brake hose) from the master cylinder. The reason most guys foot brake don't work well is that they don't burnish them like their main brakes.

if its wiggling it should be loose enough. It doesn't take much pressure to do the job. It sounds like you may have to take it in to your dealer. Can you get fluid to squirt out when you push on the pedal and open the bleeder?

Where I bought it isn't really a store that sells that kind of stuff, it's more of a farm equipment store, but the cheapest around by far in this area. I doubt they work on them. I'll open the bleeder again and push the pedal to see if fluid comes out. If not, what is the warranty and would this be covered. I've only had it 5 months. How would air get in the line in the first place? After I tried it yesterday, I adjusted the linkage a little, just trial and error. I adjusted it down which made it work a little better but not like it was before, it still hits the frame, it used to work awsome. Thanks again for all you advice.

yes, it should be warranty. Most places that sell the stuff service it too unless its a big conglomo like bass pro shop or gander mountain (which services stuff but I wouldn't trust the one over here to change my oil). As for the bubble getting in- I am not sure what happened if its that bad. It may not even be an air bubble, you may just have a bad cylinder or something else is going haywire. The reason why I thought air bubble is that 99% of the 04s were shipped with a poorly bled and misadjusted foot brake. Its up to the dealer if he wants to go the extra mile and actually set up the machine the way its suposed to be (like bleeding the foot brake or checking belt tension on the 650s, ect.). So buying cheap isn't usually the way to go on a big ticket item like that. You want to find a dealer that will take care of you in the long run...
