The clutches are similar to a snowmobile in that they work the same way exept the drive clutch has a bearing in the end of it.
Inside the case there is an actuater with a fork on it that keeps pressure on this bearing thus keeping pressure on the belt at all times including when you are decelerating.
That is how the clutch stays engaged all the time until you come to a stop.
Hope i explained it well enough....i had mine apart the other day putting in a different driven clutch spring and put an eyeball on that "gizmo" [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

I just couldn't figure it out on my own, and I didn't want to tear my AC apart just to find out![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] It was alot easier just typing a bit!
