Go to highlifters website to see the HP. Look under dyno runs. They have an 03 500i that they put on a dyno. It's the same engine that the '05 has so the readings will be similar. First mod I'd do would be a dynojet kit. If you can stand the extra noise, a HMF pipe. If you really want speed, upgrade to a 650. :-D

Congrats on the new quad!

The title application that I got with my new '05 500 auto, says it has 32 hp.

I believe that's HP at the motor not at the wheels. Highlifter's website shows HP at the wheels.

Yep, time for a dynojet kit, K&N filter and a HMF pipe. . :-) You can also get clutch kits from aaen for the 500 that'll wake it up quite a bit. For the money you'd put into it, you'd be better off to get the 650 if you're worried about the speed. You're not out of the break-in period yet though. The power on it will start to increase at 200-400 mile mark. All in all Arctic Cat doesn't focus on speed unless you buy the DVX. The 500 and 650 are sport/utility quads with a HEAVY emphasis on utility. Enjoy it for what is it. You have a great bike!

can someone post a link to the page that has HP ratings. Either I'm dumb or just can't find it OR both. Thanks.

Oh yeah, I'm new here.
