500 Tire????
#2
Frog:
Well, believe it or not but Scotto had mounted the 28" Outlaws on his (sons) Auto 'Cat without a lift. He's got a pretty good response as to how they performed under the topic of "Tires for Auto Cat" towards the bottom of the page. I believe he said they did rub a little on the black part of the fender at full lock turns, and possibly slightly on the shock, but I don't remember without checking back to his post. Most of the guys say that the 27" tire will fit just fine without the lift, and not rubbing either so that's what I'm planning on mounting as soon as I get some cash saved up.
How big were you hoping to go, and what type?
Good luck!
Mike

I have 27" Tri and Bi Claws on my 500 with no lift. When I got them, They had 9lbs of air in them and were abut 28" tall in the rear. They fit fine even then with plenty, and I mean plenty of room to spare. I figure just about any tire would probably fit under there. The only problem you might see would be mounting 12" wide tires on the front. Thats common only with serious mudders, but not with most people. 12" on front might rub the shocks.
