HELP !!!! 04 AC BELT LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON
I AM ABOUT TO GIVE UP ON THIS P.O.S.
JUST RETURNED FROM DEALER AGAIN. 3RD TIME IN 400 MILES. RODE IT 25 MILES BELT LIGHT IS ON AND LIMPING HOME.
BELT IS FINE AND EVERYTHING ELSE LOOKS TO BE IN SPEC AND SWITCH DIDN'T MOVE.
IS THERE A WAY TO RESET THE LIGHT WITHOUT TAKING IT 60 MILES BACK TO THE DEALER.
THEY TOLD ME I COULD NOT DO IT, THE MECHANIC AT ANOTHER AC DEALER I CALLED SAID "YOU HAVE TO JUMP 2 WIRES"
BUT COULDN'T TELL ME WHICH ONES????
CAN THIS BE DISABLED COMPLETELY AND REMOVED.
I CANNOT RIDE IT ANYMORE WITHOUT BEING WORRIED I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RETURN HOME.
LIMP MODE JUST BARELY GOT ME HOME LAST NIGHT 20 MILES AT 10 MPH.

Didn't kawi do a lovely job on the electronics and the clutch,NOT!!!!
I haven't had to do this for a while because I have A/C's cure for kawi's screw up but I belive it is the top two wires in the male plug(the four wire plug)that you jump.Don't forget to un-plug the two wire plug too.
Your dealer should get you the capacitor or RF filter or whatever it is called,and at the very least he should give you the re-set key.

Its for the Kawi, buts its virtually the same. You want to jump the Orange/green and Gray/green wire instead of the colors they speced. Just did it before getting my Dynatek. I'll never have to do it again!

Vforcejohn; RELAX! your dealer apparently does not know what they are talking about. First AC sells the reset plug that comes with complete instructions. I had to reset mine once on the trail 5 minutes max very simple. second AC is providing a fix for this problem. They are supplying a filter that plugs into the belt sensor. I have had mine for about two months now with no belt light trips since it was installed. Prior to that I tripped it about 3 times. If your dealer wont help you go to another one. My dealer called AC and they installed one on my 650 no problem.

there is the permanent solution the dynatek cdi which gives you more power and you never have to worry bout limp mode again you don't have to hit the ovveride switch to go in reverse and the engine runs a lil cooler all for the LOW LOW price of 240 dollars i know it sounds alot but at least it is a permanent fix for kawi's crap plus ya gain some low end torque it only takes about 2 min to install and away ya go no rejetting or nothing actually it takes about the same amount of time to reset the belt indicator light and your dealer should have given you that plug when you bought your wheeler mine did

I bought the Dynatek, and MAN does it help the low end. Thats why I bought a 650 for low end grunt. That Dynatek seems like it adds 10 horse on the bottom. I DARE ya to keep the front end down! Braaaaaap !! Up she comes ! ANd no more Limp mode....
Dynatek Install instructions:
Remove seat
Disconnect battery ground
lift off CDI (box on left side of wheeler)
disconnect plugs from CDI, and save old cdi just in case
install plugs on new cdi
place rubber around cdi
hook up the ground
reinstall the seat
Whack it and hang on !
(I adjusted the belt deflection at the same time, so the change was more radical.)
