Ahh, now I know what holes you are talking about. The ones on the top of the front racks. My 99 is an earlier 99 model made in late 1998 and it has round tubing there instead of the flat kind the new ones have. I forgot all about that change.

Mike,
Well I found the source of my blown fuse. It took me about 5 min. It was just as I thought the wire from the backup light switch that conects to the ignition wire was pintch and shorted to the frame. Its a tight fit in there but I got all the wires tucked away and the Warpony put back together and I was off for another test drive this time WITH my gear bag. Every thing works great I going back up to the rez this weekend that will be the real test. The Warn trail lights I got are ATV-VH12S and 1,000 candlepower @ 10 meters; 10 Lux with a 21 wat bulb in each light. I took some photos of where I mounted them and the switchs I'll let you know when I get them up.

RE: Speed, I'll GPS the warpony this weekend and I'll have my son GPS Little bad next time he go's out.

Have a great time this weekend!

I installed a faan switchup underneath the left fender. I ran power from the battery and fused it inside the battery case. I pulled the connecter off the fan and installed a Diode so if the fan wants to run on auto it can or I can switch it and not worry about putting power to the fan sensor in the rad. I Installed a red light in the instrument pannel so I can see if the fan is on or not because you can't hear them. Here's a good Idea!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also installed abuzzer from radio shack for $5.00 that is hooked to my idiot hot light. When the hot light comes on so does the buzzer and I don't have to worry about not seeing the light. If you want details on how to do all this feel free to email me and i'll send you the info.

Scotto:
Glad to hear you got it figure out and was so easy to fix. Yeah, those are the lights I was looking at, they look like they'd work pretty well up there. Let me know what you think of them, if they are bright enough for you, if you don't mind. Also, I'll take a look at the pics when you get them posted. Hope you have a great weekend riding!

Gord:
Under the front fender? I take it you haven't had any trouble with brush, sticks, mud or other debris bothering it there? Interesting set up you've got too, pretty fancy in fact. I was just kind of thinking like a little on/off switch inline with the main power current or something simple like that, just so I could turn it off in deep water crossings. Man, you got fancy, that's pretty cool! Hey, what model AC are you running? Any other mods to it? I always love hearing what everybody has done to their machines. Somebody asked "Why?" in one of the other forums. I think it would be pretty boring if we didn't customize our own rides, each one different or unique to it's owner/rider for what works best for us. Just wish I had some more money to really do it up right, ya know!

Take care and have a great long weekend, ride hard, be safe!

Mike

I recently installed a fan switch. I used a DPDT switch (double pole, doube throw). This allows you to have three positions: on, off, and auto. I usually just leave the switch in auto, so the thermo switch can turn on the fan, but it is handy to be able to just keep it on when pulling a heavy load. If anyone is interested I can post a wiring diagram.

Yeah, if it isn't too much trouble, I would be interested to see how you wired that up. I got my Cabela's lights installed on Friday. Mounted them up on the front rack, just in front of my mortar box, where they are high enough to not get submerged in water, or possibly beat up in the sticks and logs that I cross over, or the trees that I plow through at times.

I wired it up to the battery for now so they come on whenever you hit the switch. I may end up tapping in to the ignition switch so they can only come on when the key is on, but if I do, it won't be for a while-really not that important to me.

For the switch itself, I just drilled a 7/16" hole about an inch up from the bottom of the black plastic where the ignition sets, close to the overflow gas line hose. I put it there because I'm going to buy another set of the same lights to mount on the back for reverse lights/work lights, so I'll put that switch just to the right of the one for the front lights. It is a black rubber push button switch that sticks out from the inside, and is anchored on with the screw top deal. It actually looks pretty nice, and all the wires are up through the handle bars, running down under the fenders, so you can't see anything. Overall, they look pretty good I think. I'll try to post some pics next time I get a chance.

Thanks for the info,

Mike
