Just recently had a stick rip my outer boot on my 500 trv called dealer had the boot delivered. Got axle out and cut all bands , now i have a problem!!!! How do you put the bands back on????? they seem too big!!!Any help would be appreciated, would like to ride this weekend. The only thing it told me on the package was i needed a tool to put the bands on . went to my local auto parts store , found a tool but didnt look like it would help me. Went to another atv dealer ( non artic cat) they said the bands dont look like anything they have or use HELP!!!!!

 

I had the same problem with only one of the bands in my kit. The small one was ok but the big one was a 78 when it should have been a 68, which was way to big. Dealer swapped it out for the right one. next time I check befor I leave the dealer.

 

To put the band back on don't go buy a tool. Use channel lock pliers. I have done this on 3 of the CV which ripped. It's a little tricky but you can compress it enoutg to lock them in.

 

i have done i believe it is 4 of them now and i always just use a needle nose plier to do it like i have told many people on here before once you get one under your belt you can do the next one within a half an hour which is bad cause i got people brining me their atv's with ripped boots to replace now [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

 

Showing the world you are competent will always get you rewarded. Unfortunately, the reward usually comes from behind.

 

Thanks all for your help, bands actually did fit, just didnt want to at first. Had to use needle nose to get the final band on the inside clamped. Will find out tomorrow if i did everything right.
