Default AC 500 auto upgrades

okay I did a few searches on this page in the arctic cat forum with nothing really comming up about it. I am interested in waking up my 500 a little bit and was reading about the cdi upgrades for the 650's but can't find anything about one for a 500. Pipes seem to be limited. Jet kits and k&n's seem to be available but is their really anything else if so who is a good reputable supplier for aftermarket ac parts and what is available, Thanks, James

Yes there are mods out there. This is a great site and I use it for a lot for info but at the risk of getting in trouble over here Ill mention that I also get a lot of good info about mods from the boards over on highlifter.com

Sorry guys

pangborn83, the easiest mod you can do is to buy a dynojet kit. They are about 50 bucks and will give about 2 more HP. You can also put on a high flow air filter like a K&N. Another 30-50 bucks, 1/2 - 1 hp. A pipe will wake up the bike a bit but it will set you back 250 bucks or more and will be LOUD (2-5 HP). If you don't want to buy a pipe, do a few searches on muffler mod.

I'd start wtih the Dyno Jet kit though, best bang for the buck. And remember to keep the stock air filter clean and lubricated.

well thanks guys, I will probally do a jet kit and the K&N then I don't really want alot more noise that what it is already because I like to use it to get my deer out of the woods (I don't ride it in till an animla is recovered but I still like to keep a low profile) so I might have to look into the muffler mod as was sudjested and see what everyone who has done it has to say about it. Thanks and if anyone has anything else to add please do or feel free to send me an email jpandborn@stny.rr.com thanks James

okay I have done some reseacrch and I think I will do the clutch kit, air filter, jet kit, and the pipe mod. Only thing is that I can't find any really good detailed posts about the pipe mod but I did find some pictures at this address http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/scebok...king/my_photos I think with all that done it should be plenty powerfull enough for a 4X4 for anything I will want to with it. So thanks to all that have given ideas.

Black Magic Racing is supposed to have a pipe. I don't know anything about it other then I was looking for one about a year ago. Other then that there isn't many aftermarket companies making anything for the arctic cat.
