Default 04 fender flares on an 03

Title says it all. I got some 04 front fender flares because there ~ 2" wider and look allot better than the extenda flare kit. Now I don't get so muddy, and it's also allot nicer to ride down the stream bed without getting really soaked.

That's the same thing I was thinking of doing. Can you tell me which parts you used. Is it the black piece that goes around the headlights and down to the footpegs?

Yes the piece that goes around the headlights. the square piece above the foot pegs I left, they have a flat piece of plastic that bolts to it. So I got the fender and that flat strap of plastic.

I have the same unit and I find the stock tires throw the mud...and I am planning to get some bigger tires...so I am looking to get fender extensions now...

You mention that you used 04 fender flares....are these AC accessories? Do you have a part number???

Thx....

Look at the TRV fender extensions that would add another 2+ inches to what you have there. And... the fronts can be used on the rear. I modify the heck out of the extensions on the rear to go around the entire fender. They are in the 2005 accessories catelog.

Something else to throw out that may help a little. On my 01 I was getting a lot of mud up through the "floors", the metal cage that extents forward and back of the foot peg. On mine there is not much of an issue with tire stick out so I don't really get a lot of slop off the sides of the tire, in stock widths. Anyway, I made a pattern of the floors with cutouts for the peg, shifter, brake, etc. I then cut them out of some heavy plastic. I used an old tractor trailer mud flap. I secured each side with about 6 zip ties via holes I drilled to either side of cross bars in the factory floors. Whaala, full floor boards. No mud problems. Occasionaly I will break a zip tie, quick fix, not a problem.

Just a thought.
