Default New 2005 400

I have the new 2005 like green 400 4x4 with push button 4 wheel drive, diff. lock, and the auto, also with ITP wheels and the mud lite tires which I beleive are 26'. My question is I had the ATV for maybe about 2 hours and barely rode it at all and went back in some creeks behind my house and got it stuck in some sand and mud. The only problem is that when I put it in reverse to try and back out it wouldn't even turn the tires over. It would if I put it in low gear forward but nothing in reverse with the override button on and off I tried both. My question is; is there a way to put reverse in low range or will it not turn the tires over being because I only had ridden it for a couple hours and the engine not being broke in or will it just not turn those big of tires over in the mud and sand.

it is my understanding that in 2005 AC made reverse gear the same ratio as 1st gear, my best guess would be that once ur engine gets broke in u will have no prob turning those 26's as I turn 26" outlaws with no prob on my 2003. good luck.

Yep, the problem is we have NO low range reverse.
Other than that, the 400's are a great bike IMO.

My complaint has always been the lack of low range in reverse, so you have to 'plan' accordingly - ha. But as mentioned above, as soon as you get some serious miles on your machine, you'll notice a world of difference in the power. I've got over 1200 miles on mine now and the difference in power is almost unbelievable.

Wish I had your new locking front diff...

Yeah that sucks not having low range in reverse but that would be about my only complaint. I have had Hondas before I would would have to say that this Arctic Cat has performed as well if not better in every category. In fact my brother has a 350 rancher 4x4 with the foot shift and we hooked them back to back and I dragged him around my yard though I do have a bigger bike with locking diff. and 26in mudlites I was very impressed with auto low range. Also with the diff. locked this thing will climb anything you put in front of it. I am really impressed with this bike.
