Anyone use the atv jacks? I'm thinking of buying one since I need to take the tires in to get swapped out. Just wondering how well they work for a 650? I think the max lift height is 17" on most and the AC650 is 13" heigh already, so with the spring expansion, I'd think that wouldn't even take it off the ground?

Also, any recommendations on brand/store? Looks like the Sears model is ok and at a decent price?

I have one that I bought at Costco. I use it all the time. And it's pretty easy to move the quad around after raising it, off the ground. If your quad sits that high, use some wood to make up the difference so, like 2x4's or 4x4's, that way, you don't loose much lift. Just a thought.

What's the clearance on your quads? My main concern is that with 13" of clearance, the 17" lift won't even get it off the ground.

Also, what kind did you buy at costco and do you know the lifting height and price? I know they have a great aluminum one at Sams (not that I have a membership anymore), but it's 169. Great price, but probably more than I need to spend. The one at Sears I believe is 99 and everyone seems to like them as swquads mentioned.

thx.

Bought mine at Harbor Freight over a year ago and it is still going strong. Best $69 I've spent on the quad. Like rescuediver said, just attach a couple of 4X4's to the top of the lift rack and that gives you 4 more inches of lift. You could even use two levels of 4X4's to give you 8 more inches, but I would recommend you bolt or screw the 4X4's together and then attach them to the lift with screws or bolts. I have found that if the tires are off the ground, that's all you really need.

Thanks guys! Missed the 4x4 comment originally, but that's kind of what I was thinking anyway. Now I just need to decide which one to buy: Amazon has a JET for 109 including shipping and Sears has one for 99. Not sure which is better, but I've always like JET for other things. Sears is a bonus 'cause there's no shipping necessary...in fact, they had a stack just as I walked in the door today. Perhaps a sign.

Any other thoughts on what/where to buy is still appreciated. Maybe the 59/69 dollar jacks are just as good and I should go with that?

Everyone I've ever seen are identical with just a different sticker on them. I saw them for $69 at Schucks Auto parts here, that's the same as Checker or Kragen Auto Parts store.

Like Bear said, I think they are all pretty similiar to each other, other then color and stickers. The lift on mine is like, 17 inches or so..

I finally bought the Schuck's model for $49

its a good value

I took a chunk of 4x12 doug fir and bolted it to the deck. It slides under the quads with about an inch to spare. I think it goes up 14".

I also bought the $29 adjustable rolling mechanic stool. They work awesome together.

I have one of those rolling stools too Love it also. Just be careful and check the bolts holding the wheels on. They have a tendancy to come looseNext, I'll use some loc-tite on them
