Weez440, I agree that the AC's will get you home. Only had the one problem and was able to fix it quickly. Even if it was a no fix, going home in 2nd gear would be slower but not a deal breaker. You enjoy your rig as much as I enjoy ours. That's really what it's all about.

oregonner; With the 250 and it's 5 gallon tank and almost 40 mpg it was never that big of issue because everyone else ran out first, waybefor I even got below half tank. The 400 however is getting about half that now, this is during break-in and I expect it to improve some. But last night I was looking for ideas on carrying extra gas and gee whiz I found it. In the AC Accessories catalog found baskets for the MRP rack that are just the right size for my gas cans I already have (I measured to double check). So next week when I take the 400 in for the first oil change I will order a pair. So yeah I thought about it but not when I first responded to this thread.

I can speak highly of the Tamarak brand trunk. Its darn durable. I rolled my Polaris 500 6 times down a hill and the box took a heck of a beating but did not bust open or get damaged beyond some good scratches (battle scars)

I do not advocate the rider type trunks as they just promote 2up riding that is dangerous. The PAX ends up with thier weight to far back and the front wheels come off the ground at the most inopertune times.

I usually keep it simple, just wrap 3 or 4 tie downs to your front bumper to keep them handy. Whats a tool kit?? I drive a Kawasaki! HEH HEH HEH. I just let my four wheel drive utility friends carry the other stuff. HAHHAHAHA

well good thing for you krv that you don't have an arctic cat 650 with the kawi motor and tranny cause then you wouldn't like kawi's with the limp mode and the loose belt so what i experienced with them don't go braggin bout them to me

Ya BEAR I saw those baskets also, also saw some flat tanks for water and gas that looked interesting. The mileage of the 250's is great, had a Kawa 250 that spoiled me for mileage. However the 500 AC I'm riding now has no comparison, so on long trips gas has now become an issue. Sure do like the power and room to carry all the goodies though.
Happy trecking to all to and to all a good Holiday.

Oregoner, I already checked out the flat tanks and decide for the money there were better ways to go. I can also use the baskets to carry other things on shorter day trips.
