Are you sure it was motor? Duramatic is a great design but it is possible to slip belt. Usually you will hear sweeking if belt is slipping.
If you were plowing powder or fluffy snow you might have injested snow into your belt case. You can check this by checking a drain plug on bottom of belt case. Don't leave plug out as you will get water and mud in bearings. The belt shivs? have fins to blow out any water but you have to run up some speed.

Bowtech,

I'll reconfirm what has already been reconfirmed. The 400 will wake up after a few hundred miles and keep getting stronger to the 800 mile mark. My brother in law was impressed enough with my 400, he went to buy one, but settled on the 500. The 500 is a noticably stronger bike, but you pay the additional for it. We ride the same trails and do the same work with our Cats. I just can't out run him.
