2005 650 H1 production

I've got a 700EFI and I've owned arctic cats...and my Dad owns 3 AC's... so my support of the 700 comes from experience on all the machines....
If he's not hooking up and he's spinning, it's the tires! The stock tires on the KQ are really the worst grabbing tires I've ever seen. They slick over in the mildest amounts of mud!
I've got a KQ700 with 26' 589's and it has tons of low...when your in low. It is a beast, in diff lock it eats things up! I have been in frozen creek beds with 4inches of ice snapping and popping as the fronts hit the ice, chugging along with little throttle and churring up the mud under the ice!
On highlifter a brute owner(redbruteforce) in the kawi forum tells a story ..with pics! Of a KQ pulling a AC 650 (3 snapped axles) and his own brute force up a snow covered hill. The KQ was towing them up the hill that snapped the axles on the cat! A Rubicon was towing the BF..it overheated, they swaped it with another Rubicon on the same hill...it snapped a rear axle trying to pull the BF out...so the KQ was hooked to both quads and pulled both of them up the hill and 4 miles out in the snow 8 inches deep. The KQ was fine after the trip! He rides his quads hard but was amazed at the strength of the KQ on the low end. I've put my KQ in some nasty spots, I've pushed through snow in low up to the front rack for 50 yards...it just plows through, way better then my old 500! The 700 didn't win all the shootouts or get high reveiws on it's looks...it really is a stout quad.(except reverse!)
Maybe your freinds don't know how to use ... or when to use low? In high, it has a lighter feel to it, and dosen't like to be dogged. In high it wants to move, and feels to me like it wouldn't like being worked in high..It wants some throttle in high.
You will be getting a great engine in the 700efi... if that is even true? I can't think that AC would give up their own assembly line so fast? I'm sure the H1 will come out with an H1 650 power plant. They might sell the 700efi too at some point in the future...but I can't see them giving up a multi-million dollar investment into their own production line?
For what it is worth, the 700efi is the smoothest pulling engine I've felt in the mid range. From 8 mph to 50...it pulls hard and fast, at lower speeds it's a bit lean, but by dropping into low range the problem is gone. Top end is a "wind-up" and it takes time to hit the top speeds in the low 70 area. To 65 is done without much effort but it has to have time to move up from there.
I've got no reason to tell you any different, the biggest flaw with the 700 is the reverse issue, which I'm afraid AC may have inherited. I hope not, or I hope that they fix it before selling the quads, there is a fix, but Suzuki is just fixing them as the blow, instead of a formal recall.
Maybe AC is fixing them before selling them, and that could be the hold up! Which dosen't say much for Suzuki, but makes a great name for AC!!!

You know you are right about not knowing when to use low. It does seem to help with the machine not spinning the tires so much. We ride in very little mud, most of the trails are fire road type. We hit a lot of sand pits too, its a blast to have the tires spin in the sand.
I really do hope AC releases the H1 soon with the 650. I also hope they do use the 700EFI in a machine of thier own. I am a big fan of large bore single cylinder machines. You know the saying "the bigger the piston the more the torque".
You wanna know something odd, we have not had anyone in the group with the reverse problem yet. Many other probs tho.
Personally I do like the KQ in all aspects. If AC don't hurry with the H1 I'm gettin the KQ just won't beet it as bad. Only want the H1 for ground clearence, when I ride near home its nothing but mud.

HI EVERYONE THE CEO OF ARCTIC-CAT SAYS SUZUKI SUPPLIED THEM WITH THE MOTORS BEFORE
AND KAWASAKI GAVE THEM MOTORS TO GO TO A 700 PRAIRIE AND THEN THEY INTROED THE BRUTE FORCE 650 SO ARCTIC-CAT WANTS A BIGGER MOTOR AND EFI AND SUZULI STEPPED TO THE PLATE, THEY SUPPLIED THEM BEFORE
SO THEY CAN GET MOTORS AND NO R&D TIME SO A 700EFI CAN COME OUT QUICK.
THEY HAD ALOT OF TIME ON THE H1 BUT 650 WAS THEN AND BY NOW EVERYONE IS 700 OR 800
SO IT WOULD TAKE THEM TO LONG TO GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD AND THEY HAVE ONE OF THE BEST CHASSIES IN THE INDRUSTRY WE JUST NEED LESS WIEGHT. I THINK A 700EFI WITH AC CHASSI IS NEXT. WE WILL KNOW SOON AS THEY WHERE IN MONTANA LAST WEEK FOR A CONVENTION AND A LOT WILL
HAPPEN WITH AC AND SUZUKI, THEY CAN CHANGE THE EFI CHIP AND PIPE TO GET DIFFERENT POWER
SO LOOK FOR A SWEAT A** QUAD SOON! LIKE 2006 FOR SURE! THEY ARE NOT GOING TO HAVE A V650 THATS WHY THERE IS A H1 AND THEN A NEW 700EFI NO DEVELOPMENTAL ENGINE TIME NEEDED!
COOL HUH! V-TWINS END UP TO COSTLY ON PARTS I KNOW BECAUSE MY BROTHER USED TO BE THE KAWASAKI DEALER IN YANKTON SOUTH DAKOTA AND TO MUTCH CAUST TO MOD IT. THE H1 IS A GREAT MACHINE BUT IT IS LESS THAN THE COMP AND IT IT WILL WORK AWSOME FOR THE MOUNTAINS AND THE
ROCK CRAWLING. ARCTIC-CAT NEED A ENGINE SUPPLIER SO THEY CAN HAVE THE R&D TIME TO DEVELOPE THE H1 THATS WHY THEY ARE TAKING SO LONG FOR THEIR OWN MOTOR GET THE KINKS OUT!
IVE BEEN RIDING ATVS FOR 3O YEARS I STARTED AT AGE 5 I'M 36 NOW SO I HAVE A LOT OF KOWLEDGE ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE INDUSTRY. IT JUST WAS A FLUKE MY DADS NEIGHBOR IN SUPRISE AZ SUN CINTY GRANDE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY WAS THE CEO CHRIS TWOMEY (TOO ME) I MET HIS WIFE SHE IS THE BOMB CHRIS NEVER MAKES TO AZ BECAUSE OF SO MUCH WORK IN FALL RIVER MIN. MY DAD HAS FIXED HER TV TWICE AND HER COMPUTER 3 TIMES SHE WANTED TO PAY HIM AND HE SAID JUST GIVE ME A GOOD DEAL ON A ARTIC-CAT ATV AND SHE SAID NO PROBLEM! THEY HAVE COCTAIL PARTIES ALL THE TIME AND THATS HOW HE MET CHRIS AND FOUND OUT ABOUT THE SUZUKI 700 MOTORS. THANKS EVERYONE ON THE FORUM TAKING TIME TO READ MY MESSAGE AND I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!

Sorry if I sound like a jerk, but the "w" in Twomey isn't silent, and it's "Thief River Falls".

Cut the guy some slack fellas. It's his 5'th post. We're getting a little arrogant around here these days. We need to keep it light and fun.
4114, thanks for you post! ...and welcome to the forum!!!

I am not a smart man a stupid most likely. But one thing I do know.
AC had a disappointing year .17% growth in sales yet negative net income growth of 7%
19% growth of employees no doubt trying with all their heart to get that (cash sucking) engine plant producing as promise to the owners. The largest by far Suzuki. Which when the rubber hit the road Mr. Motoo Murakami Executive Vice President of American Suzuki Motor Corporation and director of Arctic Cat must approve.
Will Suzuki cut and run on the H1?
Will Suzuki continual to purchase AC stock.
Can AC raise the capital to maintain their market share?
Will there be a merger?
What role if any will China play?
Will 4114’s dad get his deal?
Shonk

I would not but much faith in the H1 going into any AC ATV’s.

Chief Executive Officer
He does not say what the plans are for the H1.
