Default 05 V2 650 Jumping out of High

My V2 has been jumping out of High on take off. Also my fan is not working. If I am not running at + 15 mph ( in high) the high temp light comes on. With less than a 100 miles and a waiting list of over a week to get it into the shop. Is disappointing, any input is welcome.

check your rad to see if there is any coolant in it,don't drive it for heavens sakes. You should take it to your dealer and they can adjust your linkage then too.If you want to do it take your seat off and put it in high, loosen the two torx screws and it should line itself up,give it a little wiggle to make sure it is firmly in gear and then tighten the screws up again.
The over heating problem should be fixed before you go anywhere.

I am OK on Coolant as soon as I get a high temp light I sut her down. It is going into the shop. Also I am getting a back fire going down hill or if I backoff at speeds 35-40mph.

Thanks for the reply

Sounds like a lean condition to me,check your air-fuel mixture screws.Turn them all the way in (count the turns) and turn them out,I think 2 or 2 1/2 is factory setting.Mine are at 3 1/2 with my snorkle.

Back fire when you back off the throttle is caused by rich, not lean condition, make sure the choke is shut clear off, That will cause a backfire for sure. What color is the exhaust pipe? White or very light brown, lean. Black to rich, My buddies 400 Auto does the backfire thing all the time and it's too rich and he won't let me adjust it for him. Also get half the gas milge I do.

My 04 650 jumped out of gear at 45 mph and it was the linkage. Had to adjust it under the seat. Mine also overheated and the hot light came on. I checked all wires, coulant level it turned out to be blown fuse in the fuse block. Put new fuse in and all was good.

The exhaust pipe is black thanks! I will check it out today. I am getting 16 MPH driving very easy in high gear. How does that compare with other 650’s?
Good day neighbor,

Yeh the fan wouldn't run at all. So I unplugged wires and put 12 volt to the plug and it came on so checked fuses. Blown fuse I replaced it and the fan started working again.
