AC's finally being recognized?
#1
Since the review of the 500 a while back, it seems the Arctic Cats are receiving a little more attention these days. Just recently the partnership between AC and Massey Fergusson, and today up on the main page for cutting firewood. I'm glad to see the big 'Cat's are finally being recognized for the true utility quad they are. And, once again, I think the atv connection boys presented another great article, covering nearly all the basics of cutting firewood. Overall, I think it was a great article.
At the same time, I'm not sure all the press is a good thing. The Arctic Cats are a great utility quad across their entire lineup, yet with no sport models available. I'm affraid that if they began making sport models, their attention would then shift from making high quality utility machines, into the sporting world, and it would be downhill from there for us utility boys. Though I could be wrong.
That's one of the things I really enjoy about the AC forum, it's honest guys with honest questions and comments regarding true to life problems or experiences. We don't see a lot of the "mine is better", or "hey that new ac sport that they don't even make yet will beat the socks of that new raptor!" I still don't quite see the point in that, who has time for it? I'd much rather read posts about experiences, encounters, problems and fixes, modifications or ways to better an already tough machine from friends with a true knowledge of the subject material, or at least enough background to provide an educated opinion, rather than just plain old B.S.
AC makes great machines, though there is still room for improvement. Hopefully they won't loose sight of that. I'd like to see them build and improve upon the already great base they currently have, rather than shift production into an entirely new division. This new partnership with Massey should prove to do just that. The ag industry is a very demanding one, of which poor quality or design is not tolerated. And, with the way the ag industry is going and farming in general, it doesn't suffer fools. Will definately be interesting to see what the future brings.
Anyway, just a few thoughts from a proud owner of a fine utility quad.

I agree with you Cowboy I hope they stay out of the sport bike buisiness too. Also I agree they just need to build onto what they already have, which is good quality product. I think all they need now is a better front wheel pulling system.
