This is why Polaris's newer quads are winning the shootouts in the mud portion.
Have you considered therapy? HaHa!

At Mud Nationals, there was only one Polaris that made it through the mud pit on it's own. All the rest were towed out.

I ride with an '05 Artic Cat 500 and '05 650 AC, and constantly outperform them in the mud. Of course at the nationals with all of the mods those guys put on their quads THEN it MAY be better then an SP, MAYBE. and nah im good, no therapy needed here. As far as the Dirtwheels Shootouts and all, Stock SP 700 or 800 vs. AC 650... the AC could not hang. Its a good work/ utility quad, ill give it that.

Driving ability, something I think far too few people fail to consider in a heated "my brand is better than yours" argument.

I love my wheeler, and I know other people that drive other brands that love theirs. I didn't really ask my friends to like MY wheeler...it's MINE, I don't care if they like it or not.

Good point. I've seen my cousin take a 454 Arctic Cat up a jacked up hill that I wouldn't drive up on anything including my 660, solely because he was stupid enough to try and made it. Is that enough for me to think an AC 454 is better than a Grizzly? Nope. But I wouldn't let him take mine up that crap either to find out. Flip it on this one and your quad is totalled, and possibly yourself as well.

Just to add my two cents about hills...

I was out this weekend with my 05 AC 400i, riding some pretty serious trails in the mouintains of Montana near Missoula. It was raining off and on for days, but wan't TO muddy. The logging roads in the area are rutted and full of water...the trails are ROCKY, and STEEP in different order depending on a particular trail. I was with two other guys...one on a 300 FourTrax, and one on an 03 Rubicon. We all kept pace with eachother on most of hte trails...(Left the fourtrax in the dust fairly often). There were a few hills that my two buddies wouldnt even attempt. One in particular was so steep that I really should not have gone up. It wasnt a trail so much as a "looks like someone went up it once". It was so steep that was leaning over my handle bars so far I was dang near holding onto the front rack with my teeth (Not literally obviously). It was rocky, and somewhat slippery. I couldnt slow down because I would have been severly screwed. Let me say this... My AC made it to the top that offered one of the most amazing views you could ask for...having said that, I doubt I'll do a trail that steep again. Now for my two points...

Unless your doing really extreme stuff...a rubicon or a cat are both great machines. I think mine outperforms most machines in most situations, but that's just me. Engine breaking is AWSOME (coming back down that hill, HOLY $#!%), front diff lock is indespensable!, ground clearance is the BEST, suspension is AWSOME (best ive ridden), and it just looks cool! There are a LOT of cats around Montana, thats all I know.

Not to mention that the first person to tackle a nasty mud hole will usually have the easier time with it. If I get stuck in a hole with my bike, and completely rutt it out, most anyone that trys to follow will get stuck as well. The guys I ride with like for me to go last because I have the most ground clearance, and the largest, most aggressive tires, and when I get stuck, that hole is gonna be all tore up.
