I here a lot of fighting for places to ride. trying to find places to ride. I get the idea your very limited in your available riding areas. How does it work in the states as far as riding on Goverment land.Is there a big anti atv movement by non riders down there?

There is a HUGE industry of left wing anti-everything here, Canada, and around the world. They are all part of the same crowd that started your wonderfully successful (not) gun registration program. In the area I mostly ride in is currently in a dispute with the Mn DNR. What they want to do would effect both our countries, because people use that trail system to ride their wheelers to ride up into Canada.

Im not sure thats quite accurate. The dnr only follows the lead of the elected administration. They can only follow the laws and directives they are given, they can not be rouge agents, and do as they please. The enemy isnt the dnr, in fact alot of the dnr people enjoy riding atvs, as much as we do. They have the same problem as the rest of us do..the people who feel they can ride anywhere they please, legal and illegal, which ruins it for the majority. If everyone would stay where they are legal to ride, and stay out of the cat tails, there wouldnt be much of a problem.

Ya the gun registery, nope don't want to discuss that mess. We are fortunate here because if it's owned by the goverment we can ride on it,there is nothing in place in my province anyway to say other wise. We have a huge riding area and except for the odd private land owner it is all open for riding on

reliv007; And your knowledge is very lacking. There is in most states a restriction on state or Federal land use by ATVs. It is an uphill battle and every year we lose more places to ride.

the number one reason we are losing atv trails is US!! too many idiots out there, the laws wouldn't be around if there wasn;t a reason that they needed them. no land owner should have to deal with land being wrecked because he wanted to be a nice guy, no state or county land for that matter either. i think that it is only going to get worse now that people are seeing what is happening. i also believe that the allowance of atvs on some snowmobile trails will eventually kill atving. now not only are the land owners pissed but now **** of the snowmobile clubs, landowners, and not too mention a VERY large chunk of moneyspenders (snowmobilers), and you are going to have problems. ask any business what they would rather have atv or snowmobile trails and the answer will always be the same. (you can guess what the answer is). blaming the left wing and the dnr is a lousy way of ignoring the simple fact that it is people that own atvs that ultimately will cause trails to close. open your eyes and realize that the government has other things to worry about and they would love not to have to talk about atv trails every year but until all the trails are closed or the idiots stay home they are going to have to talk about them.

The elected officials only do what they are pressured to do. This is where the left anti's are very strong and active. Not only are they zealots and will lie and cheat to get their way. But they are very vocal and that is what the politians and government weinies listen too, because it is what they hear. Most off roaders are not very vocal about their sport. You need to join the local OHV group and become active in not only retaining what we have now, but push for more areas to ride. I don't know about Canada but here in the states, well most states, you have to register your ATV and pay a fee or tax. Some states use that fee to give ATvers places to ride, Oregon is very good at this, however most just take your money and give nothing back, Washington state is a good example of this. If you don't become active is pushing your sport to the top of the groups to being heard, you will end up loosing your place to ride. As to the people who ride illegally, we as protectors of our sport need to become self policing and stop the rule breakers or you will loose your place to ride because of them. It's not fair, but they lazy liberals would rather outlaw ATVs altogether than just punish the wrong doers. That is their cure for gun violence, outlaw guns, not punish the wrong doers.
