arctic cat 650 vs king quad 700
Depending on what opinions you're looking for I'll just give you this.
I've got a riding buddy that has the 650 and it beat (fair and square) a Sportsman Twin700 in a drag race (still waiting for him to race the two other guys in the pack running 800's). Also, for some dang reason, the guy never gets stuck - even in some of the nastiest mud cake around. He always has the ability to back out of everything he's gotten stopped in while all the Polaris' we ride with end up needing a winch. The ground clearance is the best so if 4x4 riding is what you're looking for then nothing compares to the 650.
The 650 has got the juice but if there's anything that's most evident about it's drawbacks would be the high center of gravity which makes steep hill/incline climbing alot of fun (i.e. hairy!). With the Cat being so big too it makes for mor work when riding fast thru trails. It's no girly of an ATV - someone wanting to work it won't mind it but someone looking for it to work itself will be wrong.
I don't know jack about the King Quad because I'm on my first and only ATV (2004 400TBX). Nice quad but don't call me Robbie Knevil just yet. Depending on what you're looking for, take Andy's approach and size them up on paper. After that, go test ride them both. Don't rape them but don't be a sissy either. That's what I did when getting my TBX. It's a handful on a trail but it works its butt off on the farm. One last note, I believe all ATV's have their own personality and riding them will show you.

Don't know anyone with a King Quad or ridden with one.. but they look great on paper. I checked one out last year at the local 'zuki dealer. I sat on it and it felt kind of small, like I was back on my old Honda 450. I've heard the KQ is good for fast trail riding, and that's not really the AC 650's forte.

I know someone who has both. The AC 650 is a total mudder. With the stock 13" of ground clearance plus he added 28" ITP 589's and a 2" lift, he never gets stuck. And the power of the 633cc kawie v-twin moves the tires with ease. The other guy with the KQ700 is stock except for 27" IBC gators. It is too a great machine. Here's my break down:
For heavy mudding: The AC650
For all around: The KQ700
In a drag race, the AC650 might get the edge at 1st, but the weight of the AC650 will come into play and the KQ might pass it given enough road.

My brother n law has one,I've got an 05 650 AC,We both have 26" tires,I've got the HL mod on mine (it helps) I own him until I hit 40mph. He passes me and walks away slowly, his bike will turn on a dime and handles great, I really like both bikes but for all around crusing I'd go with his,But for hitting the rough stuff I'll keep my AC. It really depends on the kind of riding ya like to do.
