new cdi.......sucks

I just put a cdi unit on my 04 650, and i dose not add that much power at all. According to the diagnostics on the unit itself it says that its working, but i can hardly notice any differance. Apperantly it was supose to add huge power and make it a wheelie machine...................bull Sh@#!! Any suggestions

Who told you that you'd get a huge power gain? As far as I know replacing the CDI will really only raise or remove the rev limiter. I've never heard of anyone getting huge gains out of just replacing the CDI.

You did not put in a CDI, it sounds like you installed a ignition module (DG, High lifter, etc, etc) If you put a CDI (Dynatek) you would have noticed a huge power increase. The guy with the 400EX does not know the Kawi vtwin. The modules offer a low end boost by tricking the stock CDI into thinking you are going more than 5mph so it advances timing. The Dyna CDI increases ignition timing on the low end and high end, increases rev limit, gets rid of belt limp move and eliminates the reverse overide button for full power in reverse.

OK - I admit when I don't know what I'm talking about - and apparently I don't here. LOL - just never heard of a CDI doing that much powerwise. I'll do my homework next time. Hope you figure out the problem CrashnIt.

if you got the highlifter module i had gotten one last summer and it was faulty didn't do anything so i sent it back and they sent me a new one and that one worked and like previously said put it in low and crack it down. i then pulled that out and put the dynatek cdi in and shazam wheelie standing power. i sold the highlifter module and the guy is very happy with it that bought it from me. if you don't notice a horsepower gain then you may have a faulty one but if you got the dgi or whatever it is called i believe they have an on/off switch on them.
