Default Warranty Issues with AC?????

rdavis,

I have a 2004 AC 500 Manual and it's the same. Rear brakes haven't worked since one. Haven't gone to dealer yet. Dealer that I purchased from hasn't been able to answer simple questions over the phone so he's out. I have located a competent dealer and I'm sure he will take of me but is 1 1/2 hours away. I'm waiting for my first scheduled maintenace. I'll let you know how I make out.

Default Warranty Issues with AC?????

I told the dealer that I found contact information for customer service at AC and was placing a call to AC to raise all the issues with them, now the dealer is taking care of my problem. Funny how that works.

Vmaxdlx,

Yes it is the one with IRS. I actually bought it for my wife but use it more than she does. My main purpose for the machines was to be hunting. The Cat is great but a little large for the areas I play in. The old New England fields that have overgrown over many decades are really tight therefore the smaller machine gets through much easier. The auto is nice also. It handles much better with the tighter suspension it doesn't dip as much in the corners. Also the power to weight ratio near the same, I can't tell the difference. The other thing is I have a Ford Ranger which I had to build a cradle in to get the Cat over the wheel wells. The Kodiak fits between them. I must say that I won't get rid of the cat, it's a great machine for working around my place, hauling firewood, plowing, etc. Good luck.

yea it is MBullism. I'm actually moving shortly to the opposite side of Douglas. Bought a piece of land in Thompson, CT just out the other side of the state forest. ATV trails run right through it. One of the reasons I bought it. I'll have to figure out where they go then maybe we can get together for some riding.

Default Warranty Issues with AC?????

I've had no problem with AC warranty. First the Low/High/Rev lever bolt came loose and repaired for free and a popped out of gear issue. Checked out by dealer, oil drained, engine and front and rear differentials; all covered under warranty
they changed your oil in your engine and front and rear diff under warrenty.
i find that hard to beleave.

when i had my front diff replaced and my rear axels (all 4).
2 axels once and one axel twice i had to pay for the oils every time because they said it wasn't coverd under warrenty.
the rest of your story i can beleave.

now for my story.
i had some troubles with getting the warrenty work done with my dealer.
my cat would sit there for weeks befor they did the warrenty work.
it seemed like all the people that were buying the new quads and wanting winches and other add ons came first and when it was slow they worked on mine and other warrenty work.
and i let them know that i payed for there service in advance so i should come first and not a guy wanting a winch put on his new quad.
thay are also a honda and kawasaki dealer and i give them alot of buisness.
and i let him know that there is other dealers out there that would be more then happy to get my buisness and if he wants to keep mine and everyone elses buisness he better make the custamer that has already payed happy or they might never come back.
and where i live everybody knows everyone and it dont take long befor word gets out.
and then its just a matter of time befor he dont sell ****.
anyways good luck with the warrenty work.

Something locked up and it was in 4 wheel low at the time. I mean tires stopped and all but killed the engine. Didn't want to go until after shut down and back into high range and then worked ok. Took it in and the tech did what he thought best, which was to check the lube in the engine/tranny and differentials for any pieces of metal. They found nothing and charged me nothing either. Then again I use a number #1 dealer in sales in the state and they get people to come back by treating them right. I will never buy another bike from anyone else or parts for that matter.

i just find that strange because i have two other friends with cats also and there are like me they had to pay for there fluieds also.
ac dose not cover any fluieds at all no matter what.
thats what they told me.
so if they did change your oils they did not charge ac they payed for it out of there pockets.
and if they did that then you got lucky.
how many other people got there oils changed for free when they took there quads in for warrenty work.
ill bet theres not too many if any at all.
and if there is let us know.

Bear said he had a good dealer that takes care of him. Sounds like he is right on. Too bad other dealers aren't meeting the same standard of service. My dealer treats me well too. I keep going back.
