I have an 04 650. I don't believe that it has a reserve. It is also hard to judge mileage. On good hardpack dirt roads I get about 20 miles per gallon. In rough, rocky terrain, I get as low as 10.

The manual says when the last bar is flashing you have about a gallon left and that is your reserve, but like I said when the last bar on mine is flashing I have half a tank.Like you said CatMan,the mileage is hard to go by,just have to carry extra fuel.

I don't normally carry extra gas. Most of the people I ride with have Polaris Sportman 500's and they always head back well before I need to. I ran out of gas only once and that was after 85 miles of hard, slow riding. I love that 6.5 gallon gas tank.

I ran out once last summer as I was loading my machine on to the trailer after 93 miles on the odometer. The guage registered empty at about 65 miles.
