I did the springs today and all I have got to say is there is NO difference between the Kawi and A/C clutch systems. Th new springs did feel pretty good on the short ride I took. While I was in there I put a Brute belt in and removed the smaller shim. When in gear and not moving I have a low squeel( not loud). So I know the belt is tight. Cant wait to see how it works this weekend in the mud.

What is the advantage of the Brute Force belt? I am at 97 hours and will be taking it in for inspection next week. My tranny feels great, although it could probably lose a small shim to tighten it up. There is very slight slippage from a standing start in high range. Other than that, I'm expecting the belt to be in pretty good shape.

The Brute belt and A/C stock belt have the same part # printed on them but the material looks to be different. On arctic chat everyone says the Brute belt is better for some reason.

Any evidence of an advantage other than the look?

I have not road it for long yet. I plan on going Sunday and I will let you know. From what everyone on arctichat is saying, the brute belt is made with a different kind of material that holds up better. Everyone on that site really knows alot and seem to be running it for a reason. I had it left over from the prairie 700 and decided to give it a try when I put the clutch springs in. I will tell you this though, when I held them side by side the brute belt seemed to be a little shorter in diameter, maybe cause it hasn't been on the atv yet. Who Knows?

Well I have seen 65 on mine however I am also running larger tires and a clutch kit. I raced a new King Quad the other day on a dirt air field. The King Quad kicked my butt both off the line and top end. It also had larger tires but no clutch kit. That and a few other factors made me think twice about my most recent purchase. Mainly because after riding the King quad for a while it had better thottle response and seems to handle a tad bit easier.

Dont get me wrong I love my 05 650 V2 Cat and have no plans of changing, but if I sold my 500 Vinson I would have to say I know what I would be looking at next.

Take care

Hey ATVAlaska, you need to get the Dynatek cdi for your cat, it really wakes it up. Best $250 you can spend on it. You are right though, that KQ is a great machine.

ive hit 66 on my bone stock 04 650. i think it will run more too, felt it had a little still left in it plus im 240 pounds so if mayb a 150 rider would get on it i think 70 is def possible, i have a pic of the spedometer at 63 cause it started feeling a bit uncomfortable only holding on w/one hand and my 500 dollar camera in the other at that speed.
