Default 2000 Arctic Cat A Good Buy

I am looking at a 2000 Arctic Cat 500 for my father. I am thinking it is an automatic but have only heard about it. I am going to look at it within the next 2 days. It has a winch and a plow. The owner is asking $3500 for the machine. Is this a good deal? Are there any problems with that year of atv? Does Suzuki make the engine for it? Any info or personal opinions would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone knows of any used 4x4's in the Northwest PA area, please let me know.

My dad has a 2000 500 auto, you can see it in my pictures. They are great machines, $3500 is a good price. They are like a tank, never will break down. There are no known problems with them as far as I know. Yes, Suzuki does make the engine. In my opinion, it would be a great used quad. Only thing it won't be doing is winning drag races. But if your dad is like mine, he won't mind Go for it I say!!

Thanks for the reply. I did find out it was an automatic also. Any other observations?

Ah, one more thing, check out the exhaust, if it was sitting outside or in a lot of humidity it might be rusted and need to be replaced. I just talked to my dad and he also said his was starting to overheat in the warm weather, but he changed the coolent and that fixed the problem. SO you might have to do that too, no problem though. Thanks also for the reply. I went to take a look at it last night and it was sold, so this is all a moot point now. However, I do appreciate the replies. I wouldn't have made the purchase without consulting the "real" reviewers.
