I do not have a TRV but i do have a rear mounted winch. I have two pic's of it in my yahoo photos. I removed that useless rear leaking tool box on my 03- made a mounting plate and put it there.. I have only used it a hand ful of times but at least it's there.

My 2005 has a water proof storage box there. I don't have enough dry storage for all the things I carry now and don't want to lose the dry storage space. Your solution won't work for most guys.
