Default 700 EFI Cat Question

Hey guys, I'm told there's a new AC coming out with Suzuki KingQuad internals (engine, possibly tranny, belt, etc.) Anyway, I was wondering how far off the release is and whether or not you've heard anything about the ECM having a lag on the bottom end, like the KingQuad. If you have not heard anything about it, or have specifically heard that it will NOT have a lag, I'd love to see if someone could tell me or attempt to plug an Arctic Cat ECM into a KingQuad and see what happens. Just when we thought we were going to have a solution for the lag you've probably heard us complaining about, our best bet, Yoshimura, has replied to some people's e-mails by firmly saying that it is a fuel-only module they are going to release, and this lag is caused by ignition timing. They may be mistaken or trying to hide information until the release, but if it's true what they are telling people, it's going to be a huge disappointment because there are already two other fuel modules and that will not eliminate the "lag." So basically, I'm just looking to exercise another possible option. Thanks for any and all help I may receive!

Default 700 EFI Cat Question

Hey RedGoblin, Don't take this as fact, but this is what I think I know...

Arctic Cat is taking the engine and tranny, but just doing some very minor changes. They claim they are changing something to make it more of a puller, but I think that is from a change in the final gear ratio. On my Arctic Cat site, everyone is talking about a Yosh module too. No body has seen or riden on yet either. So in short, the ECM will probably do you no good. Look for it to be out in March according to Cat, so in other words, next December...

the 700 EFI is going to be arctic cats H1 motor well thats what it said in the lil brochure i read and it will have arctic cats duramatic transmission. and a person would think that the king quad would be snappier on bottom end beings it is an efi. i know i can do wheelies by sitting on my 650 and mine is just a carb.

I'm fairly certain the new 700 will have the KingQuad motor and this motor is restricted on the immediate low-end up until about 9-10mph by a lag in the ignition timing that was purposely put into the ECM to reduce unwanted wheelies by amateur riders and thus, save Suzuki some lawsuits. Thanks guys for your help thus far. If anyone gets a chance to ride one, please let me know whatever you can in detail.

I am 100% sure the 700EFI uses the KQ engine.
If I hear anything else I will let you know RedGoblin.

The engine specs; bore, stroke and cid are identical to the Suzuki. I went to the trouble to check.

Default 700 EFI Cat Question

I have in my computer the spec sheet on the 700 EFI that I got off an earlier thread on here about the EFI and it isn't anything close to the H-1 motor. It is however identical to the specs on the Suzuki engine. Check here:
