I have a 2005 arctic cat 650 with 28 inch mudzillas and a clutch kit and i keep blowing belts has anyone had this problem if so how did u fix it. Thanks

 

Get rid of the big tires.

 

Are you using low gear all the time? You should if you are not.

 

Isnt that what the clutch kit is suppose to cure. Allow me to run my machine with bigger tires?

 

I mean no offense, but check with people running 650's with stock tires, (with or without clutch kits). I don't hear about them chucking belts. Problem is, if Arctic Cat intended it's machinery to churn huge tires, they'd either make them that way, or offer a clutch/wheel/tire/suspension package as an option. I understand the desire for big bad skins, (ego), but not the need. I am running a 2003 Arctic Cat 400 with stock Dunlop 25" tires. I have tons of ground clearance as is and have yet to be stuck, (despite my best efforts). Truth is, things like lift kits and giant tires do little more than add a measure of instability to an already stable platform. Stop trying to chug the big lugs and my bet is your belt woes will evaporate...

 

If it is the v-twin the belt is going because that is a kawasaki motor with a polaris type transmission. Stay far away from or get the dealer to lifetime warranty the belt and labor

 

Get a good straight edge and make sure both shafts are parallel to each other, If they are out of alignment you will shred belts all day. The belt must always run straight at any speed.

 

I don't think his issue is anything other than oversized tires and high range. Pretty much operator error.

 

Your probably right, but it never hurts to check all possabilities.
