In the words of the great Stone Cold, "Ah, Hell Yeah!" Damn, that was too close for comfort. Thank god Florida pulled through in the end, gave Bush the final push from 246 to 271. I must say I am really dissappointed in my own home state. Not only did Gore take Washington, but Locke was re-elected, and Cantwell beat out Gorton. Looks like our state is stuck with the enviro-*****, and anti-gun fanatics for a while, hope all turns out OK in the long run. I do feel better knowing Bush will be the deciding factor for most (hopefully) of those issues, and hopefully our land won't be taken away from us anymore.

You never really know with politicians though, so lets just hope for the best, see what comes of it.

Man, if memory serves me correctly, Boner, you'll be voting in the next election, right? Sorry you couldn't make this one, but at least we were able to pull through in the long run.

Best of luck with everything from here on out!

Mike

Don't celebrate too soon yet, as Gore is leading the popular vote, and at this time was only about 1800 votes behind BUSH in the count in Florida, and they are waiting on counting the absentee ballots yet, as well as clearing up the mistakes in the ballots down there. I bet we won't know who won until tommorrow night. I sure as hell hope BUSH gets those ab votes, like his party assumes he wiil receive. Really ticked me off, last night at about 1:20 A.M. when all three of the Major TV networks-ABC,NBC,CBS announced that BUSH won, when it wasn't definite yet. I am upset like COWBOY is that Gore won his State of Washington, as well as my state of Minnesota. It embarrasses me that he won our state. I wish people would wake up! Lets all hope and pray that BUSH makes it!

I woke up just to hear that they had taken back that Bush was the 43rd president and now they say it's too close to call. So I stayed up till 2 am for nothing.

Yes, I could not vote in this election. I'm only 16.

Boner:
I was up till 4:00 a.m. last night/this morning-whatever, waiting to find out the results. Things kept changing back and forth, and just as it looked like Bush would have it, Gore would come back. See-saw battle all night long. Woke up this morning to our first snow, with about 4" on the ground, and still snowing hard. Normally I love the snow, but after hearing the news this morning about the Bush drawback thing, that it's now undecided once again, and the combination of them damn California idiots who can't drive worth a darn in any form of precitpitaion, let alone snow, it kind of really puts a guy in a bad mood, if you know what I mean. Almost got in 3 different accidents on the way to class this morning from idiots who can't drive worth a darn, slipping and sliding all over the place. Saw 4 people in the ditch on my way to class, which is only about a 3 mile drive!

Hammer:
Couldn't agree with you more. Gorton and especially Carlson were our best hope for 2nd amendment rights, as well as land aspects. Now that those damn eco-***** are in control, we're really in for it. Thing that really gets me is that the largest percentage of the votes comes from the largest cities, mostly on the West Side of the State. All the raging liberals, eco-*****, tree huggers, anti-gun lobbyists, etc. They generally don't have a clue as to what is going on around the world and don't really care, just as long as that damned spotted owl isn't bothered while nesting or sleeping. Man, what a crock!

Saw one poll that nation wide, people in the age group between 18-29 had 60% of the vote going for Gore. Can't believe that type of turnout for my own age group. Found out two girls in my own Ag class voted for Gore. Want to know there reason? One of their teachers who is a *** Rights activist said it was the good thing to do, that he was the best thing for our country. Funny thing is, these girls are both from farm backgrounds, enjoy hunting and fishing, and both ride either motorcycles or atv's, utilize them both for farm applications! Smell the irony here? How about that little issue of the facts at hand? Somehow I doubt they really got the whole story, and if they had, I really doubt they would have voted the way they did. Smells like a real country *** whoppin to me.

Don't get me wrong, it's not all about guns and atv's, there's also the issues about water rights, farmers/growers rights, dam removal, other non-needed land closure or roadless initiatives, clean air acts, dot initiatives for new highways or road construction, etc. Not to mention the usual schools and retirement issues, as well as taxes, but come on now, lets get real for a minute.

Anybody ever feel that extreme sense of dissapointment when you work so hard for something, only have it stripped away from you in the end? Our very own freedom as we know it could very well be just that, depending on the next few hours, days, whatever it takes.

Sorry guys, just a little confused, saddened, dissapointed, whatever you want to call it. Guess we can only hope for the best, and try to make the best of what we've got already.

Cowboy,

Too many fish lovers (tree huggers) live here. The Seattle area has the majority of the states population. Most of the Seattle people don't go into the woods. There idea of going off road is driving to the ski resorts.

Yeah, I am upset, but what could we have done? I am a member of 2 snowmobile clubs, & 1 ATV club as well as the Blue Ribbon coalition. Our clubs donate thousands of man hours to help work on trails & warming huts.

I hope Bush pull off Florida.

:O

Boner, there remain a few very old people in your neck of the woods who remember a politician very much like Al Gore.

Like Al Gore, this politician formented class warfare ("Soak The Rich!").

Like Al Gore, this politician promised a Welfare State ("Share The Wealth! Every Man A King!").

Like Al Gore, this politician seemed on his way to become President of the United States, despite questionable practices and "shady deals." However, on this path, Huey P. Long, U.S. Senator from Louisiana, was stopped decisively (ask the old folks how, and by whom).

Why does Al Gore appeal to voters? "Somethin' for nothin'" still sells as in Huey Long's time, given Gore's degree of success. If you could resurrect Huey Long, he, like Al Gore, could come awfully close to the Presidency today.

I hope an untainted ballot box spoils Gore's Presidential ambitions. With an honest count, I'll get my wish.

Hey guys, I live 5 miles from Bush's ranch in Crawford, Tx. How do you think I feel today. Was at the Bush celebration party in town, one of many. We were all in dispair after they pulled Florida away from Bush. Don't give up to soon. From what I hear the chances are still really good that he will win. I hope. I got to meet him at the Crawford High School graduation and he is a great guy. Has a couple of 4-wheelers along with John Deere gators on his ranch. He's one of us. You all keep the faith because I know I am.
