Default '06 500 Powerful Enough?

My friend just bought an '06 500 Light Green Manual, and hates the badlands tires. My question is, is the manual powerful enough to run my '27 (slightly worn) 589's? .. i know it will run them, but how much power loss should he be expecting? Thanks.

Ive heard to many people complain about power loss and wear and tear(blown belts, blown clutches, ect...) from using to big of tires. Im sure it will have the powre to get you going, but I would put them on my machine

My last statement was wrong, I meant to say I would NOT put the tires on my machine

It's turn them easy
We have 2 500 manuals
we've got 27 inch 589's and they turn easily in mud.
We also have 27 mudzillas and it turns them fine

i had an 03 500 auto with 27 inch itp 589's and it robbed wayyyyy to much power going down the road and the gas mileage dropped like crazy. on my 650 it handles them great but on a 500 i wouldn't put any 6-ply tire on that is bigger then a 26 inch.

im sporting some 27' 589's on my 02 500 manual. the bike has 2600 miles on it and 2500 of them miles were on the 589's. it does have a loss of power, but its not that bad. ive ALWAYS spun my tires in the deep mud holes while in low. the only problems ive had with them on there is that i broke my rear axle 2 times. it was deffinatly my fault though, climbing on some boulders that i shouldnt have been on in the first place. kinda put it in a bind and it broke.no problems since. the speed on level ground is about 45,roughly 40 up hill. fronts are 27-9x12,rear 27-11x12.

Thanks, i appreciate it. I myself am thinking of getting a Manual AC 500.. it seems to be BY FAR the best Manual ATV out there. Diff Lock, IRS, Great ground clearance, seems like a GREAT machine.. if i get one i will probably get 'rid of the Badlands like i did when i got my '04 Polaris. and put my 589's from it on the AC, and get some new tires for the Po-Po . Also, i have an AC dealer within a mile from my house, so it seems logical to buy a Cat. Last question, does the 500 Manual come in Camo, i know the Auto does, if not ill be dissapointed and go with green..

Awesome, yeah i hope it does come in camo, if not, is the 400 Plastic Cheap? .. and i know for a fact that the 500 comes in camo in Auto, so you could take it off of there.. AND do you have ITP wheels on your 500i or Spacers or both? or none? lol..
