YES, IT'S TRUE. If you have a 400/454/500 4x4 without the 2wd/4wd selector you can locker your front differential for sure by going to Niteowl's Website. I can't post the website on this forum cause the owner of these forums--------. So e-mail me to get the link to Niteowl's site and to get the rest of my coments.

PS. I don't know if this modification will work on the newer front diff models with 2wd/4wd levers so thats why I make no claims to it, but if you try this mod on your model with the 2wd/4wd option PLEASE tell us.

Thats pretty neat. I wonder what it does to the steering effort and turning radius. I know one thing, the three wheel dilemna would be over after this mod. Thats for damn sure! I think I'll wait until a few guys have done this before considering it, basically just to see about the steering. I know I would definitely like the improved traction.

The steering is like a bulldozer! This mod is for the serious mud/rock rider only. You wouldn't want this for casual trail riding. I've ridin other locked quads and the only one that compares on steering effort is a grizzly, and the grizzly is easier to turn.

I think a extinsion could be bolted on the hub were the tie rod bolts and would make it esier to steer but the turning radius would greatly increase

What you need to do is make the steering post arm longer that way the ease of steering and the turning radius increase. Only down fall I see it the need to realine the quad and the increase in feedback from the tires, but if you could make a steering stabilizer to fit it would work perfect.
