Dave,
All of the above...
I will list the list of part numbers you need... I will have mine back together by this weekand... I used to have a fulltime locker in my bike but that got old when trying to turn 29.5/12/12 outlaws... So to answer your question... Yes it will have all the bellsand whistles as the new ones.. Limited slip locker and 2wd/4wd... The cost will run you close to 800.00 unless you can getthe parts cheeper... It's always good to know someone in the buseness. You need the internal gears from the 650 the side case cover from the 650..The locker bracket the Left side 650 axle. The bracket to hold the cable.. A 1.5mm shim.... Any more questions Just ask.
Mark

Yo,
Update on hopping cat I did get it into the dealer in Glenwood. The tech, Jason, has looked at it and adjusted the clutch because the shifting was a bit hard. After talking to him over the phone he did bring it out to a CRP field and got the cat to hop. He did try something I did not think of: see if he could recreate the problem in 2WD. It did. He has checked many things and really seems determined to get to the bottom of it. The last time we spoke he said the linkage from the engine to the rear transfer case has an inordinate amount of slop when compared to a new quad. The problem is it requires tearing the engine down. He also said that there is no spec to reference and he wasn't prepared to tackle this if Arctic Cat wouldn't cover it under warranty. He has a call in to the factory and is waiting for a reply.
He also tossed up a theory: Maybe it's the tires. He was going to try a different set of tires. It seems like a long shot, but if enough torque was generated the tires might actually slip on the rim when spinning freely then hooking up with good traction?
Chumley, Thanks for the tip to bring it to Glenwood. I feel confident they are doing their best to get this situation resolved.
Cheers,
Farmboy

Just to throw my 2 cents if it worth that much. I have an 06 that does the exact same thing in the snow, but it does not do this in the mud. could it be that the new cats have so much travel, their Centre of gravity is a lot higher then most models causing the hopping. Any one that has driven or at least watched a 4x4 truck knows that the vehicle will bounce in the snow when there is little traction. The tires will grab just enough then let go under a constant amount of throttle. It is a weird thing when it happens, and it does feel like yer ridin trigger, but i don't think thats it's any kind of drivetrain problem. Till someone tells me different, i'll live with it

Thanks for looking at the pic's,,, Glad you found it ok.. As for the manual.. It was from my deaelr it's for a 04-650..As the frt diff is now basicaly a 650 diff.. I wanted to make sure i had the toqure specks right on.. And the correct shim. I guess as you also noticed in some of the pic's was my Helper... I got up she jumped right in there... The first night was bad.. She decided to jump in the 80-90wt gear oil.. That wasen't good.. Being tracked all through the house....... Anyhow.. I feel this is the best mode to do other then tires to a pre04 modle... If you have any questions..Pm me and i will give you my phone number and answer your questions.
Thanks for looking.
