I have just begun negotiations toward the purchase of a new H1. I am wondering what some of you guys have paid for yours as so I get the best deal I can.So far it is sitting at $11,000 cdn. with the 2 year warrenty and 2500# winch installed. I know they will come down but I want to know how much I can push the issue.

i dunno bout up in canada but here in the states we get a 3 year warranty on the new cats now. and the conversion rate is so close now i think it is .18 on a dollar so you would actually be better off buying one in the states. and keep in mind it changes every day.

Just bought my H1 650 cat for $9763.00, incl. warn winch,fr & rr bumpers, & 2 yr warranty. I live in northern manitoba and I bought my bike locally. For an extra $300, I had the stock tires changed from stock to 27 in. mud lites. This is my first cat. Have heard some good things about the new cats which was a factor in my decision. Just need to break it in now. Can`t wait for the weekend to try it out.

Thanks for the welcome Catterman and weez440. Everyone seems to agree that I should break the 650 cat in hard. Well, I suppose I`ll just have to do just that. This I will enjoy. Thanks for the advice.

don't hold the throttle wide open for longer then 5 seconds or at any speed for longer then 5 seconds and i read and article the best way to break in a 4-stroke is to crack it down hard hold it wide open for about 5 seconds and let off hard and let the engine breaking slow it down the hit it hard again. i could get into all the technicals i guess if you like i could try to find the website and it made alot of sense how the rings have only so long to seat and if you drive slow there will actually create a ring on the cylinder walls that isn't quite at top dead center that makes the rings bow down therefore not getting the full compression.

Same goes for the V2. I broke mine in hard, and it has excellent power now, and runs great. I broke in my Honda fourtrax, which is a 93, the same way, and it has yet to have a major problem.
