Default Frame Replaced

My dealer did a great job. Addition to the frame the bushings were replaced. Only one tube was holding the bike together. It’s hard to understand the risk AC has elected to take. AC at minimum should have a recall for inspection. No doubt there's a catastrophic event on the horizon. But that another story I’m back in business.

The welds are different in 06, 04 and 05 models had some problems. Although, if you decide to take your 700+ lb atv over a 15ft jump, dont get mad at the bike if your frame breaks. Thats what they make the lighter sport quads for

Shonk, please let us know what the problem was exactly and whether or not you took it off of a 15' jump to break it. What were the circumstances when it broke? A friend of mine is looking to buy a used Cat. Do you know what models are affected? I read elsewhere that it was the V2s specifically. Any info that you can offer will be appreciated.

My 650 was not abused by any stretch of the imagination not even a 1-foot jump. No wheelies, donuts, etc. In hindsight there were slight symptoms due to the frame flexing.

To name a few

· Steering out of alignment
· Flexing in foot boards
· Rear break lever not returning to the correct position
· Vibration at higher speed
· Diff seal leaking

I think that the welds started cracking on top by the air box of the 4 tubes only one was not broken.
V2Rider how do you know the welds are different on the 2006? If your information was gained from a chat with your dealer I’m not buying it. Show me some documents.

1.) How many miles/hours on your ride?

2.) Is that bad welds or is it just a weak design?

3.) You said that your dealer has been good about the whole thing, how has AC been to deal with throughout your ordeal?

4.) Has your dealer had any more with this problem?

Thanks.

TextText

1) 2800 miles 208 hours

2) I think it’s tube being off spec

3) Cat Car did not give me or the dealer any problems

4) Not to my knowledge
