Default axle or diff or what

Went for a ride the other day. Came up to a water hole, only about half way up the tires on my 06 500 auto. Left it in 2 wheel and in high gear. While goin across i heard what sounded like a click and i could feel it when it happened. It seemed fine after so i kept going. Heard it a couple more times, but still everything seems fine. 4x4 works fine, high and low, but i am gettin worrid this things gonna leave me in a swamp. Anyone have this problem? If it is one

I am pretty sure it is your bushings on your shocks. They go bad within the first 5 miles of owning the ATV. Check to see if it has slack in it.

I find this statement to be pure BS. My 2001 still has the stock bushings with at least 3000+ miles. My 2005 400 has 1500 miles and still has the original bushings. So your statement is wrong at the minimum and an out and out slander at the worse.

Bear, I know 50+ people with Arctic Cats, I would say over half have issues with the original bushings. You obviously got a good set.

CM,

Thanks for backing me up on my statment.

Bear,

I'm not going to bash you or anyone eles that rides a stk bike. But in 99% of the posts i see you making your always talking about keeping the bike stk and thats the only way to ride it. Most ppl i know don't want a stk bike. maybe thats why you have such good luck. You bitch when ppl put on bigger tires. You bitch when ppl snorkle there quad. You bitch when ppl put mods on there bike. You like them stk , Thats fine.. Most want a modded bike. And will pay the price if they break something.

I put 1400 miles on my 03 500, 600 on my 04 v2650, and have 150 on my new v2650. I have never had any shock bushings go bad. Now if you want to talk wheel bearings, I can vouch that the cat WB's are in need of change. When they start to go the do make a clicking noise or a squeek that wont stop. I had 3 replaced on my 03, 2 on my 04, and I think my lright rear is going on my new baby. Taking her in for the first check-up monday. I will admit that all miles on these wheelers were with 27" or 28" tires. All were replaced under warantee.

When riding a quad through mud and water you are going to hear all kinds of noises afterwards... rocks rolling around inside bounching off the drive axles, small rocks stuck in your brakes, mud and crap falling into the moving drive shaft and axles. Just get used to the noise.
