I was back home last week, and got to ride my sisters '06 650 V2. MUCH nicer riding and steering than my 500. She didn't care to take it back inthe brush with us, though!!!

 

the 650 h1 le comes with a warn 2500 winch plus front brush gaurds and rear brush gaurds

 

but only comes in olive green

 

acpower i don't mean to contradict you on the part about the stock head light's being great on all the ac's, no disrespect intended, but i bought a 2006 Arctic Cat 400 FIS TVR with the Suzuki Engine/Tranny belt driven clutch system feb.7th 2006; the weather turned for the worst before i even had a chance to do any night riding. The weather didn't clear up for over a month before i had the chance to go to the mountain's to get a good all day ride, it got dark on me before i could get back the the truck the light's were so dim on my 400 it looked like i was wearing sun glass's ! No disrespect intended, but they are to dim for
night riding for me anyway ! I have to be very careful riding the cat because it sit's a lot taller than any other Quad i've ever owned or riden !
Even in daylight riding when riding with my Brother with him on his Honda because his Honda is not as tall as the ac , i've been hit in the head from low hanging tree branch's and briar's (blackberry vine's) that stick out in the tail's we ride on in the mountain's Good thing i was wearing the free helmet my dealer gave me with the purchase of the new 400, as everyone should do every time they get on their quad's and
before starting the engine ! I'm going to add
some driving light's to my 400; the stock light's are just to dim for riding the trail's we ride on here in the northwest ga mountain's ! My brother bought a 2002 Honda Rancher 350 full time 4 wheel drive in the fall of 2001 and the headlight's on his Honda are two dim also ! My old 86' Honda TRX 350 Foreman 4x4 it had only one headlight mounted on the handle bar's, and my 93' Suzuki KQ 300 LT4wd had the four headlight's mounted in the front fender's just below the front rack. Both these Quad's had better headlight's for night riding......But i still love my ac and i bought a set of driving light's from Big Lots for $9.99, i'm waiting to get the front brush guard and install my whench and light's at the same time. The light's are the only thing i have found weak on these newer Quad's............Again i don't mean any disrespect to you or anyone else on the formum. hey AC, did you get a chance to check out the 700? I might consider brand jumping(brp) if the new 700efi is quick. i don't expect it to be the 800outty, but is it close? I dig the suspension set up on the ACs front and rear. lots of travel. i've spent some time on a 400 and it doesn't lack power for mid michigan mud. i'd just like something a little faster. any word on top speed and price of the 700's?

looking for two machines. know anything about the 250? is it a good "wife machine"? i was looking at the ds250 as comparison.

 

Bought the kid a 06 250 utility got a hundred miles on it now in 2 rides; and you don't have to wait on him. I like it alot myself.

 

My 06 700 has plenty of power for me. The main thing is it has gobs of low end torque which is what I want. It will climb just about anything I want to climb. We just got back from a ride in Wisconsin, 300 miles in three days and it now has 1,100 miles since the last week of may when I bought it. I expect it will have around 2,000 or more before the end of the year. We have several trips coming up. I am very happy with the Cat and would recommend it to anyone. It is not a rocket, but quick enough. Also, no problems, I get better than 130 miles on a tank of fuel.

 

My first quad was a 400 AC, hence the nickname on here, and I finally sold it after 3 years. It just didn't have enough power for me on the steep hills. It did a great job of plowing the snow and such around the place though. If I were buying one today I think I'd go for the 650 if I could get one. By the way...I prefer the V twin over the H1. Much more power and the H1 is just to new of a motor. The only down side on the V twin is the weak belt. That is a known problem though.

I will say that the H1 isn't as smooth as the V2. I have heard Arctic Cat added better engine mounts to the 2006's that smooth the H1 out more, but that V2 is smooth. The V2 also has about 5-8 mph more top speed, but as far as more power that is it. I have run next to several V2's and they don't beat me.

 

dumb question, what's the V2 and H1 stand for? is there a vtwin in the 700?
