Default Venom winch

Anyone have any experience with a Venom winch? I see them new for way less than a Warn, and was wondering if they are one of those "get what you pay for" items. Do you know anyone who has one?

i bought a 3000 lb venom winch for 160 off ebay for my 650 V2. works just like any other winch, except its half the price. ive got myself out of some thick crap many-a-time with ease. its not china made either, its actually from right here in minnesota. if i were you or anyon else i would buy one. good winch.

I have the 2500xt venom winch and it is great. One reccomendation is take it apart, and put a good quality grease, like amsoil synthetic into it. They are poorly greased, with a grease that washes out easy, and after a short time, you will find out the grease has dried up. Its easy to do, and cheap, so i would still say the Venom winch is a good deal

I think I will go ahead and order. Seems like everyone has had good luck. Warranty sounds like it is no problem.

Thanks everyone. I will go on ebay and look for one.

Same with the Gorilla, they are based out of Minnesota but made in China. Not saying that is bad, my coffee cup was made in China and that still works strong after 6 years I know a guy who knows the guys that own Gorilla. They do have top notch cutomer service and if your winch does go out on your, even after warantee, they will cover your back if you call them and are polite. They are working on making their's fully sealed like the Warn 3.0 and 4.0. Once they do, I might get one for my next winch. But I have own 3 Warn's since 1999 and they have never let me down, my dad still uses his Warn 1.5 on his 2000 Arctic Cat 500 auto and it works like it is brand new.

GOod luck,
