I was just looking at ebay and have been tossing the idea of a winch on the back of my machine. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with a viper winch. I see you can pick up a 3000lb winch with mounting plate for $120. I know you get what you pay for. What cheaper winch have you used?

I have a Venom 2500XT from Ebay, and it works great. I just reccomend with any cheaper priced winch from ebay, to put a good synthetic grease, like amsoil into it. The Venom winches have a cheap grease that dries up quickly in them. No problem, i like knowing there is a good grease in it anyway now that i put it in myself

I was looking at winches at ebay also, I was wondering if anybody has any of the gorilla winches they have listed. Also who makes these winches, (vemom gorrilla viper) because in the specs they are all very similar.

I am not sure on the Viper's, but the Gorilla winches are made by a company in Minnesota. However they are built in China. They have good customer service, if one brakes on you, even out of waranttee, just call the company and they will take care of you.

 

Hi,
When you put the viper winch on did you need any additional mounting gear? I was told that the Arctic Cats already have the mount in place but for some reason I don't see it.
