Get you a Benz or Stealth Silencer. Search Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's. They will run between 150 and 200, and will not affect your performance.

Default Help on 05' 400 4 x 4 Auto

I have a 2006 AC 400 fis 400 auto and it's quite compared to my brother's 2002 350 rancher 4x4 and my old 86' Honda TRX 350 foreman 4x4 it was as loud as the rancher. I had a 93' suzuki 300 KQ LT4wd , it was real quiet enough you sneak around on it. What make's the auto sound louder is the auto transmission, the engine rev's more rpms than the manual shift model's ! When riding slow the rpms are higher because you can't manually shift to a higher gear to reduce rpms like the maual's do ! This also makes for less fuel mileage, but i stll love ny cat it's a very good quad ! ...............williebee

You're suppose to check the valve clearance at 100 mile's when you do your first service, change oil and oil filter, clean and re oil the air filter, check front and rear diff. lube and check valve's for proper clearance ; adjust if needed. Then service again at 200 miles , and 300 mile's on the 3rd service then 300 to 500 mile's after that ! You shound have a manual under the seat, it has the maintence information in the manual i misplaced mine . I did my own service at 100 miles and again at 197 miles, my valve's were within the specification's so ithey didn't need adjusting ; but your's might need to be adjusted ! You need to get a repair and sevice shop manual if you do your own work, it will pay for it's self within the first year ! .....................williebee

According to my owners manual "Service Schedule" valves to be check and adjusted only if necessary at 100 miles then at 500 miles. Then every 500 miles there after. My valves have been checked but never adjusted and the odometer say 2030 miles.
