Default 700 arctic cat vs 700 grizzly

need some info and an unbiased opinion.
buying a atv for the first time in about 10 yrs. wow things have changed. could use a little help.
i have it narowed down to 2 atvs. 770 acrtic cat or 700 grizzly. it will be used for mostly messing with a few buddies, some hunting, maybe some very leisure off roading. nothing pro staff.
i have all the info as far as power steering on grizzley and weight difference basic techical stuff. but was wondering if i could get an opinion from someone who may have riden both machines. ive owned yamaha's ie sleds, motorbikes etc. but am really intested in the new arctic cat 700. just trying to see if any one has
any input that may sway my decision.
will post this in both arctic cat and yahama threads.
tx for your input.

Both are great machine, personally I see the Grizzly as too new. That power steering thing is just another part that is going to break. The Grizzly is going to be quicker/faster, the AC is more proven and tested. The AC has a two inch reciever in the back which is great, much bigger racks, and industry leading ground clearance. The old Grizzly 660's were pretty much rock solid with exception of some weak axles one year. I assume as with most Yamaha products the new Grizzly will be very reliable (again not sure about PS). Always watch out for the first year of production of an all new quad.

I would choose the AC hands down, but i also like the Grizzly. But i have no experience with Yamaha, and ive had nothing but good from Arctic Cat

It really boils down to Suzuki vs Yamaha, being the motor/trans in the artic cat is from the king quad 700.

I've seen a lot of Grizzlys have overheat problems as they got older and if Kawisaki didn't up grade the cooling system on the 700 it could be and issue and sooner too..

The power steering is amazing, my friend has a grizzly and I have a cat, I've ridden them both, I'd definitely pick the cat for rock climbing, or mud bogging, nothing can touch them in the mud, but if you're doing long trips, the added comfort of the power steering would make quite a difference. Also I've had problems where I hit a rut, or a rock and the bars are jerked out of my hands, I bet you wouldn't have that problem with power steering, and as far as the power steering breaking, that's what warranty is for.

I have ridden them both.
I have cat 500, and I have a griz 700 both are great for different areas. The griz is good for the G/F because it steers and and hadles well. Alot less weight to the griz, but it is not a duable as the cat. The yamaha has greese points on there quad so they are not sealed which will cause problems if u do alof mudding.
My Cat defiantely is alot more of a work horse then the griz. The cat has more GC bit stiffer suspetion climes alot better do to the weight transfer.

well one good thing about the grease zerts is being able to grease them and they will tend to last longer

If u can get to them. The axle ones that I was told they have are way under the machine. you can't get reach them.
I forgot to mention that they both run about the same speed.

Grizzly 700 only has four grease zerks, one at the top and bottom pivot of each rear spindle. It takes about 40 seconds to grease all four of them. Everything else is sealed.

Here is a link to a thread about power steering reliability issues over on the highlifter forum: (If it isn't legal to post a link to another forum just say so and I'll edit it out)
