I have a venom 2500, and i will tell you, you MUST take it apart and regrease it with a quality grease, like Amsoil synthetic grease. The grease they use is CRAP. My winch has been used ALOT, for about a year and 1100 miles and it has outlasted my buddies warn winch. The Venom winch itself is a great winch, its the grease they used inside of it that sucks, and dries up and causes it to seize up.

 

that was the demise of my winch i couldnt keep up with it i used a mobile 1 synthetic grease and it still kept happening
