New to ATV- Flat tire preparation
I've been on two trail rides with my buddies this week and both times we had one in the group with a flat. One was a puncture (sidewall) , the other slid off the rim.
What can you do to prepare for these situations? What do you guys carry with you and why?
thanks

alot of us put slime right away in our tires. it has to be the right kind though. one is for innertubes, the other for tubeless. you obviously want the tubeless kind. it works great, seals up to quarter inch hole. ive got 8 haw thorns in my right front tire alone for 3 years now and never had a flat.

ok, thanks. Sorry, I thought maybe there was a better type (other then the obvious tubeless) that you were talking about.
On one of the threads here, I read about someone carrying a ratchet type strap. Is this used in the center of the tire to ensure the seal after its broken?

there are other brands than SLIME: slime is green. i have used a yellow before works just as good.
i also carry a small aircompresser. mine is a slime brand but you can get good small ones from Napa and Wal-mart. the cambelhouse feld one is ok too. they can get you home in most cases even if you have to stop every mile or two to air back up. well worth it. the c02 cans once they are empty you SOL. get a small compresser, it'll fit in most storage compartments. even the very small one on my AC.
as for the stap.you might and might not need one to reseat the bead on your tires. maybe run a little more air the prevent the beads from poping off.
and a plug kit is handy too. mine has like 50 plugs with both tools and some glue. i had to use 7 plugs on one hole once to get me home. but hay the plugs and slime and my aircompressor did the job. it was either that or drive 50+ mile on a flat. no thank you....
just my thoughts.
