Default I need help choosing one!

I have been riding motorcycles since I was 11, and still am. I have never ridden or owned a ATV except for a honda oddisy in 1980. I live in a wooded hilly area of southcentral Indiana. I have decided to purchase a new Arctic Cat, 4x4, 650 or 700 but I am uncertain from there. I want to use it to pull a trailer, in the woods and sometimes in the hills mostly to gather firewood but maybe sometimes to just play on. Im 56 so I really am not looking to go 60 or 70. I probably would be considered rather shy on some of the hills you speak of but would like to do some trail ridding also. I have been to the dealer but really cant decide between the H1 or the V2 for what I want. Your ownership informatlion would help be greatly! Thanks, Richard

both are great machines, the 700 is efi and the 650 is carb. both would do the same for what you want to do with them also. the biggest concern is, do you need or want efi? if you do then the 700 is what you want. if efi is no concern then go with the 650,you may even consider a 500. bottom line, they are equal machines for what you want except the efi on the 700. maybe look around and try to find the better deal. hope this helps.

Thanks! Do you think that the 500 pulling a wagon with 4or5 hundered lbs of wood and a 165lb rider would be ok with power? Thanks, RAC

If you just want pulling power I would get the H1 The v2 has a lot of pulling power but gets to 50 mph faster than you can blink ( well not that fast but probably in 5 or 6 sec) My 06 400 auto pulled a 6000 lbs bucket lift up the hill in my side yard in 4x4 low gear. Pulling 600lbs of wood plus trailer and rider would be no problem for a 500 or 650 or 700. Get the one that you can get the better deal on.

I had the 650 H1 and it was awesome. However, I will never buy a carb ATV again. The 700 would be my choice if I were you. It will last you the rest of your life and you won't have to worry about ever needing to rejet for temps or if you ever take it up in the mountains or something. If your going to work it the H1 650 has good low end power but the 700 will do good too. EFI is nice too have, 700 would be my choice.

i just pulled a 16 foot trailer(roughly 700lbs. maybe more) with half a load of wood(another 500-700lbs.) this weekend with my 500. so i know 500lbs is no big deal. when you laod the trailer just try to keep the weight over the axle and keep the bike in low.

Thanks for the input. I found a new 650 h1, 4x4, LE for 7200.00 plus tax. Is this a fair price or can I do better? Thanks! RAC

what i did was find other dealers within 6hrs of me. called all of them and ended up finding the cheapest one in jonesboro arkansas. they wanted $5700 for the 500cc. in my area they wanted $6800. so out the door price with ; a 60' snow plow, gun scabbard, rear bumper, and 2500# warn winch all for $6330. so i got all that for cheaper than just the bike in my area. saved myself $1100 and drove for a total of 8.5 hrs. $45 in gas at the time.
