Default Sway Bar and Snow Plow

First question: is the sway bar that much of an improvement in handling? I do mostly trails and some mild mud and hill climbing. Someone mentioned if you tighten the front suspension 2 clicks and the rear 3 clicks it will improve the slight "tippy" feeling on the 500. We sometimes do rocky stuff but again, mostly regular trails and hills. For those of you without the sway bar, where do you keep your suspension set at?

Second is the snow plow. I plow an asphalt driveway. Should the blade be flush on the ground? Or should the skid plates be adjusted to raise it a 1/4 inch or so above the surface? I just don't want to tear up the asphalt. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Well i don't have the sway bar on mine. i run my front shocks 2 clicks stiffer then the rear, witch is on the softest setting. as for the plow. i also plow a driveway and set the blade all the way to the asphalt, it's light enough to where it should hurt anything. if you have crack in the asphalt then maybe but it usually bounces over them fine. with the blade on the ground then you set the skits to be at the same high th they are to keep the blade for digging in to much in the dirt.

I have the swaybar and love it for trail riding. It makes it much more stabil and keeps the front wheels planted better during cornering. Best add on Ive ever bought for a atv. guess because I have never had to buy one for my other atvs. Being arctic cat is the only FIS atv that doesnt come with one from the factory.

I have my plow set up abit for my driveway (crushed stone). I plow a few paved driveways as well, so I am going to rig the round feet with cotter pins so I can take them off easily ( bolted on now), that way I will be able to get right down to the pavement.
I have the 60 inch plow that is made for the Arctic Cats --- it's awesome

not sure about the sway bar

The sway bar (anti-sway bar really) will limit suspension travel to the point that you will not have anymore suspension than the other brands.

Mine didn't. At most it might reduce it by 2 inches, which is two inches I would never use anyway. Never been anywhere that required near what the cat has.

Thanks for all the feedback. Based on your replies and other posts on Arctic Chat I am going to set the front suspension up two clicks and mount the rear sway bar. We'll be riding some pretty rocky trails in a couple weeks, but there are also some camp trails that are curvy and smooth. I do not mind sacrificing some suspension travel for the added stability on the curves and off camber riding. I'm still running the stock Badland tires so I will post how it handled when we return on the 11th. Thanks again.
