Default Arctic cat TRV 400 not good in water

I have an 06 500 TRV and have had water over the lights and rack entering a hole with no problems but I don't make it a habit. My intake is under the glove box.

Friends have run homemade snorkels up just under the pods where their hidden since Maine doesn't allow snorkels. Don't let this issue with the TRV put you off from 500 single. The plumbing is different.

Good luck.

You must have a leak, or a plug wire or plug is exposed somewere. I have had mine buried in water, stock, and never had it stall out on me. I would do a good inspection as stated before, and make sure.

As someone mentioned before, you may have a leak someplace.

For a couple bucks you can get some plumers grease. I would take the entire intake apart from the carb and put it back together and use plumers grease everywhere there is a connection, seam, or anywhere a leak could happen, even the duckbill drain plug - where it connects to the box.

Never know, may be worth a try.

Next day off I'm going to take the air intake off and see what can be done. My air box is under the glove box but the intake starts at the front above the oil cooler. I normally don't ride alot of water, but since everyone bought new atv's recently it's hard to stay off of them. The trails are along a river bottom and this time of year it's just to wet. I need to wait until they dry out some. If anything I learned the capabilites of my TRV. Its funny to hear the Honda riders make a "meow" sound when it comes to the water crossings. Again thanks to everyone!

You will need to be careful with a snorkel as it could change how much or how little air you engine gets which would cause you to have to change your carborator jets to get the right fuel mixture.

From my past experiences anytime I have changed to a non-stock muffler or air filter I have had to tweak the jets or air mixture screws to adjust the carb.
