Battery Question
I just purchased a 2002 375. It has the original battery which is working fine but I an considering replacing it just because of its age and because we use the atv for work and it needs to start always without question.
I was surprised that Arctic Cat is so ho-hum about the batteries. The owner's manual doesn't give a battery number and my local arctic cat dealer said he would have to see the battery and couldn't tell just from the model number.
Anyway, sears and walmart (everstart maxx) have what seem to be similar atv batteries.
My question is, will these 3rd part batteries work and give me problem free performance for several years? The cost about the same as the dealer batteries (about $80). Any tips or tricks, or brands to use or avoid? Again, just want problem free performance here in New Hampshire year round for the next several years and willing to pay a bit more for that.
thanks

Battery Question
Lest last battery I purchased for my TRV was from Costco store. I took the measurements off the old battery, and noted which side the + and - terminals were located and bought the cheapest one they had. I think it was $22 or something like that. I have had it for about a year and its worked great. It is left outside during the winter in the machine and has started every time with no problems. I think it an Everlast battery. I use the 4wheeler for plowing so I know the battery gets some use.
The way I see it. Why spend $80 -100 at a dealer or to purchase a better battery that may only last as long as one costing $22.
Also, since your 4wheeler is a 12volt system any 12volt battery will work. I have seen guys that strap small car batteries to the rack in winter for when they plow. It is nice if it fits in the little battery box though.
Any, battery tends to last longer with a battery tender too. I have a little solar powerd battery tender plugged into one ATV and the TRV has a battery tender (or batttery trickler) that is plugged in to the wall. Both are hard wired to the battery so I just have to plug in an connector and its running. This may explain why the battery works so well when temps hit 20 below or colder.
Hope this helps

Battery Question
I got a $46.00 battery at Wal-Mart for $26.91 tax inc., by printing the link below and they beat the price, they did not notice the $7.00 s/h charge.
