I have not heard of any problems with the 400. I ride an 06 500i auto and it stays right in the power curve on the steep hill climbs. I've been in mud and water up to the bottom of the seat and experienced no slipping or noises. Check the forum at Arctic Chat and you will get alot of good feedback from the 400 owners as it is a dedicated Cat forum.

The 04, and 05 650V2 had some minor belt issues, but that was an easy fix for owners, and they fixed it with different gearing in 2006. Other than that, no other problems that i am aware of

SAT4314,
I noticed you have a sway bar on your list of add-on's, what does that do for a ATV?--MIke

I have an AC 400 auto and have had no problems what so ever. I did change my drive belt to a Ultimax at 2,000 miles but that was because I wanted to not because I had too. The origional belt showed only ever, so slight wear.

I'm curious why you would WANT to replace a belt that is still in such good condition.

Well I have 2,000 miles on the origional and didn't realize that they can last 10,000 miles or so. I figured that I would get a spare belt just in case. so after checking with a dealer, he wanted $174 for the belt and $35 for a gasket. I ran across a good deal and got the Ultimax belt for about $59 delivered, and I stopped into an ex-AC dealer and he just happened to have a gasket for $15 so being a SUCKER for a bargain, I bought them. And since I had new - why not install them and keep the old one as a spare.

I live in Maine and am the type of person that likes to make double sure I am going to get home. So everything on my bike is in mint working condidion. It is not fun to walk 20 miles out of the woods, expecially if the bears are hungry.

The sway bar was the best mod I have done. It really firms up the rear tippiness and makes a great difference in the handling. I find myself kicking out the rear end and taking corners alot faster than before. On the Arctic Chat forum you can do a search on sway bar and see that a great many have installed it and love the improved handling.

Take Care
