Default Aftermarked Air Filter?

Not to argue with you but the pre-filters are suppose to let 97% of air thru while helping to filter out the dirt. As I said you have to keep both clean to keep them working effectively. I do appreciate your comments, it helps me to make up my mind. Arctic sure has a elaborate filtering system.--Mike
Sorry I don't mean to argue about this......But I did alot of thinking on this topic and reading...
Paper filters are more restricted than the K & N so protection should be better with paper ..Correct...
pre-filters (when new or clean) are letting the highest air flow through them ..Correct?
But in a off road case....I just can't see the pre-filter letting 97% through!!!
I clean mine(pre-filter) after every ride and my bucket of warm water turns very dirty..

Most important fact is the type of riding everyone does!!
I am riding always in from of my wife's quad ...I have the cleaner air....
So hers is getting all the dust!!!...........This is very noticable on the filters after each ride.....

Anyway...in closing......What ever filter you get.......The main thing like you said and I agree..

Keep It Clean..........Thanks.........Caper...........

Caper, i have to say i think paper filters are junk But foam filters i believe are the best for protection.

Well what kind of riding do you do...........In water up to the seat..Then yes paper is NO good.!!!
As for FOAM filters.........

Do you have a Shop Vac???

When sucking up dust and dirt.......The Foam filter NEEDS to be covered with the Blue paper filter and the ring!!!..........I think Foam is the worst for letting particles by!!!!
But What do I know.......Just my view!!!!.......I also ride a Polaris ..So I must be wrong!!!...LOL..LOL.
Caper..............

Default Aftermarked Air Filter?

"Same thing goes for other manufactures of foam air filters, like UNI, for example. They also make an excellent foam air filter and use a very high tack oil. Fact is, there is absolutely no better air filtration media than oiled foam. Take a look at every off-road motorcycle that is used in extremely dusty environments. They all have oiled foam air filters."

This is a quote, among many others. I have yet to see test results that show anything better than foam
