Default Aftermarked Air Filter?

What I'm wondering does the K&N give a small boost to the performance of the ATV? And where is it installed, in the air box or before it etc.--Thanks--Mike

It replaces your stock air filter, and it gives a very small amount of gain in performance on an ATV. To alot of people, every little bit counts in performance. Alot of people also buy the K&N for its re-use ability over and over again.

More air flow also=less protection !!!!.....If more air is getting by that means less restriction!!!
Just my 2 cents................
I think K $ N are great for road uses...but not for off-road..............Caper......

Do you ride in the Dust alot????

If you put a pre-filter on the K&N it should stop the dirt. You then have to keep it clean,--Mike

Yes I agree,...Then your K & N is only as good as the pre-filter...Right!!!!!

Why have a high-end air filter if the pre-filter is restricting the air flow!!!!

That's why K&N don't make any since to me on a Quad!!!!!!!!
Thanks.............Caper.................

Not to argue with you but the pre-filters are suppose to let 97% of air thru while helping to filter out the dirt. As I said you have to keep both clean to keep them working effectively. I do appreciate your comments, it helps me to make up my mind. Arctic sure has a elaborate filtering system.--Mike
