you should also try to find the leak, you should rarely have to add brake fluid.

Default Brake Question

I looked yesterday and no leak.

I bled them. This is how I did it.After taking the tires off I took the resivorcover off and opened the rear bleeder valve.I let it run out for 2 refills. Then I did the frontleft and then the right.I filled it up and put the cover back on.

Now the lever pulls all the way to the grip and very little breaking accurs.

What did I do wrong? Can I fix it? Do I need new master cylinder?

I also used DOT 3 insted of DOT 4,Would that be the problem?

when you bleed brakes, leave the cover on, and you start with the farthest wheel from the resivore, it takes 2 people to do this, 1 person will pump the brakes up until there stiff, you tell them to hold it,you crack open the bleeder, let air out ,shut the bleeder, tell him to pump the brakes up again, tell him to hold it, repeat this until no more air comes out, make sure you keep the resivore full, then move to the next tire which will be next

Default Brake Question

OK,but now what do I do since I cant build up pressure.

I rode some and it did stop but not good.

Should I go on ahead and do it like you described even though it does'nt build up much pressure?

There is no #2 tire on this,#1 is for both rear tires. So I'll just go 1,3,4.

It takes two people if you live in Minnesota.

If your are not too smart but can lift heavy things, then you can figure out that your brake has a lock. You can pump them yourself and lock the brake then bleed.... lol

did you know theres always a smart a$$ in the crowd lol, but it is much faster with 2 people, but ol buckaroo does have a good point, see thats why we have people like that on here lol, you can always count on him running around with the manual, lifting heavy things lol, havent figured that out yet though, not unless the manual is that big or just heavy, but any ways good luck on the brakes lol

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out. Look at me - I'm a dummy and I figured it out - then again I don't live in Minnesota, lol...

I bled as booboobear said.No air came out but it does seem better.

As for the master cylinder, would I buy a new one,or can I rebuild the old one?
